Friends,
Please vote in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch online poll for Sen. Talent.
(Although unscientific, these polls do make an impression on the public and the self- indulgent press this early in the campaign, so showing a good performance is important.)
To vote, click the link below and scroll down, the poll is on the right.

Talent is one of the best Senators out there. He did not vote for Amnesty. Mckaskill is a dyed in the wool socialist. She will think nothing of cheating or smearing to get the seat..
I could not find the poll.
On right side "Columnists" Political Fix" then "News Poll"
Click on the first "vote" link
Thanks. I found it.
its on the right. hit VOTE and a window will open with the choices ...then pick and submit. Go Talent!
Heard Jim on Hugh Hewitt yesterday...he's a really good man. I see other places where the polls show this a close race...your thoughts? I'm so hoping those who didn't vote for AMNESTY will all come out winners. Hopefully this will be a big message for the conservatives to GET OUT AND VOTE in November.
Missouri conservatives are very fortunate. We have two Senators (Talent and Bond) that for the most part vote in our interests. Do they get 100% grades, not by a long shot. They are way above the D.C. power curve, though.
Missourians of any color should sign on to Talent's newsletter. He does a very good job of getting the word out to his constituents.
Although most polls show this a toss up (rocking back & forth around 42 percent +/- each), McCaskill has been "campaigning" (ie. shooting off her mouth) for several months including personal "slam" trips around the state.
Talent otoh has been touring the state on positive, agenda-driven events such as anti-meth legislation, e85/ethanol blend promotion, and (the politically dangerous) stem cell issues.
Despite her negative attacks, C Mc C has yet to gain any traction and growth in the polls. Now that Talent's campaigning is going to start in earnest, I expect to see the pro-MO-values of Talent to start becoming obvious, especially to rural voters who C Mc C knows she needs to win. Unless she can turn red counties blue she won't win.
I understand that during Talents campaign kickoff tour this weekend, the McC's have been holding protest rallies trying to paint (pro-ethanol) Talent as a friend of Big Oil. Only losers could pick such a losing issue for themselves.

64% | Jim Talent |
34% | Claire McCaskill |
2% | Too soon to say |
Thank much for this observation. Can't remember where I saw a rundown of the races but they had this race in the tossup column and I was a bit surprised, hence the questions. Sounds as though Talent is doing the "positive" right thing and can I put this one in the Rep colume for now?
Update as of 9:58 p.m.
At this early stage, who do you favor for U.S. Senate from Missouri?
Jim Talent
66%
Claire McCaskill
32%
Too soon to say
2%

Talent is DOING the positive things and TALKING the negatives (about C* Mc C*), as he defines her positions as a liberal supporting the Democrat "obstruct at all costs" agenda. This, with his positive accomplishments, will force her to respond and try to either defend herself or continue to complain about Republicans in general without any real solutions or positive agenda.
(* I apologize in advance ... but most men know what a C is)
