Build a fence on the southern border and the numbers will go up big time.

Why the Polls are Low for President Bush

Because some people are throwing the baby out with the bath water.

We live in difficult times and people are focusing on the negative, rather than the positive.

In the eyes of some Americans,

those Americans will say they are dissatisfied with Bush.

The Democrats are succeeding in dividing the Republicans.

I am involved with a social and business and family circle of at least 200 folks in Middle Tennessee. Mississippi and North Carolina and Texas.

At least 95% are GOP voters. All I have spoken too the past few months are worried about Bush and the GOP senate.

I went to a Rep. Marsha Blackburn event recently and heard the same thing...over and over.

Immigration is the crucible no doubt but other things like Harriet Meirs and the Port Deal (which I reluctantly understood), and overspending also got folks scratching their heads.

Now Bush and the Senate GOP including neighborhood boy Frist plan to ignore the wishes of their base....and even quite a few moderate Dems and keep on with no border enforcement and quasi-amnesty.

Usually reliable conservative folks are very angry and Bush's poll numbers reflect that. We've already seen this before sorta when his daddy raised taxes and the base got queasy and Perot took advantage and W seems hellbent to ignore that lesson.

The true believer evangelical Bush supporter chorus here are not the reality outside in the real world off this forum. It's a high five rah-rah club. Despite their best histrionics, of course nearly all of us realize that the GOP is a better choice than the Dems but that is not the point. The GOP is struggling and it needs fixing....

Folks are disappointed and looking for ways to recover this fall and in 2008 and hoping these RINOs don't do anymore damage.

The GOP is going to need some fresh blood...or something. I busted my ass for folks only slightly different from a Scoop Jackson Dem. Damned shame. So much lost opportunity.

President Bush has been a good President. What is amazing is how many things in a free society are beyond his control, that people think are under his control. It almost sounds like many of them would love living under a dictator. But then they would moan because they have less freedom. When you think you can have it both ways, a reality check is in order.

I will say this from now until eternity, God's Kingdom is the only place you can have it both ways. So if you are not focusing a reasonable amount of time pursuing that goal, your just going to continue living in a world of frustration, fear, and anger. This world will NEVER be anything but vanity and vexation of spirit, beacause of sin and its effects in EVERYBODY's life. Until this imperfect world becomes perfect, every day will have its share of trouble.

1 Corinthians 13:10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

This is easy. You abandon your Republican principles then the Dems still do not like you, and your own party dislikes you. It's just that easy.

Here, I set up a poll so we can tally opinion in this thread. No ads. Just what it says, a thread poll.
FReeRegards,
BJungNan

Poll is Here

What is the single largest factor for Bush's low poll numbers?

More voters are liberal now (0) 0%
Loss of moderates on issues (0) 0%
Loss of GOP base on border issue (0) 0%
Media distortion of poll numbers (0) 0%

Total Votes: 0

Good grief .. 43% is not a new "all time" low.

The drive-by media just keeps taking their fake polls - over-sampling dems by double digits. No wonder they get the numbers they want to fit their agenda. The dems are hoping that if they just say it long enough .. the public will abandon the GOP in 2006. I've got news for them - ain't gonna happen.

And .. THE PRESIDENT'S PERSONAL APPROVAL RATING IS 61% - that's right .. SIXTY-ONE PERCENT. Any repub who believes the dems and won't be seen with the President IS A FOOL.

Among other things, the gasoline prices of course have had an effect on the numbers. A question was asked earlier about refineries.

Here is a little on that subject.

I have run across many articles over the years about the “concept” of peak oil and the question of refinery capacity. Here is just part of one of those articles. I do not know what is the whole and true story, we all know that that whacko-enviros have been a huge hindrance to drilling and investment, but ALSO it makes sense that for oil companies, it has been easier for them to gain higher margins/profits if they close refineries. Hold the flames. ;-)

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/jamie-court/memos-show-oil-companies-_b_6980.html

The oil industry's own internal memos show the intentional shrinking of American refinery capacity in the 1990s was the oil companies' own idea to pump up profits.

Take this internal Texaco strategy memo: "The most critical factor facing the refining industry on the West Coast is the surplus of refining capacity, and the surplus gasoline production capacity. (The same situation exists for the entire U.S. refining industry.) Supply significantly exceeds demand year-round. This results in very poor refinery margins and very poor refinery financial results. Significant events need to occur to assist in reducing supplies and/or increasing the demand for gasoline." The memo went on to discuss a successful campaign in Washington State to shrink refined supply by removing other additives in the gasoline that filled gas volume.

Another Mobil memo shows the company promoted tough regulations in California to shut down an independent refiner. A Chevron memo acknowledged the industry wide need to shutter refineries and discussed how refiners were responding in kind.

Large oil companies have for a decade artificially shorted the gasoline market to drive up prices. Oil companies know they can make more money by making less gasoline. Katrina should be a wakeup call to America that the refiners profit widely when they keep the system running on empty.

****

I omitted a few sentences of this article that may have shown a political leaning of the writer. Here is hoping these above paragraphs alone could be examined for their veracity.

Yeah, it's the media's fault that Bush is a complete globalists determined to do his best to kill off the nation state, dissolve our borders, and instigate what he has told everyone to their face he wants from the very begining, a Free Trade Zone of the America's.
