Rally Planned Against Raids Of Illegal Immigrants

Protesters are gathering to rally against a new round of raids on undocumented immigrants.

Numerous raids have left Chicago families without their loved ones, and this morning the government is talking about its new policy.

But illegal immigrant advocates are calling this action and crackdown immoral and they are outraged. They are planning a protest outside the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) headquarters and another protest is planned this afternoon.

They are asking immigration officials to halt action until Congress comes up with its new laws because it might allow some immigrants to remain in the U.S.

The illegals were quickly released in Houston, under the excuses of 'overcrowding' and 'computer glitches.' How can the feds remove 30 million people then if they can't handle a few dozens of illegals?

If our government actually had the will and the spine to deport these people, these people would eventually be deported. Money would be spent on detention beds and mobile accomodations (trains, planes, vans, buses) to get them out of here. However, only the American people seem willing to do this. The government, currently, is not.

I respect what the rank and file at ICE and CBP do but I have little faith in the sincerity of their leadership.

I've seen quite a few of your posts saying essentially that enforcement actions take a long time and that we are not going to see raids every day. I believe to quote you from another thread it was "It's not going to happen".

Referring to the statistics in Post #38, what has changed? The way I read those statistics back in the mid-1990s there was not just one enforcement action every day but literally dozens.

I think ICE has more manpower and is spending more money now than they were in the 90's. Why can't we have dozens of enforcement actions every day?

Why can't we have dozens of enforcement actions every day?

Between the changes in the laws, liberal judges and touchy feely PC folks that now run the government, it's gotten much more difficult.

The majority of ICE's investigators have no immigration experience. They are former Customs investigators that have been trained to deal with drugs and money.

The small number of Immigration investigators (2,000) that now work for the former Customs management are doing what they can and being blocked, because the Customs guys want to concentrate on terrorists and drugs.

ICE's main focus, for the past two years has been terrorism. They are just now starting to worry about immigration. That is because the voters are putting pressure on Bush and Congress.

But even with all of that, there money problem is going to put a crimp in everything.

ICE should start going after the corporations and businesses that hire illegals. Put the convicted tax cheats and traffickers in prison. Give them a cell mate named Bubba.

It would be so easy to form small teams and do raids all over the country at construction sites and restaurants etc but they're not going to do that because it'll work. Having one major bust a year gives them the type of political theater that looks good in the media but does absolutely nothing to solve the problem.

IF you aid and abet CRIMINALS, you are a criminal!

President Bush has been great on most things except for our border.
He has been great on the war on terrorists.
But on the border he is a gross failure.
He acted fast and correct on the 3,000+ people murdered at the world trade center.
He ignores the many rapes, murders and robberies which might be larger than the murders and money loss at the world trade center.
More Americans are abducted on the border of Mexico than in Iraq!

Start building the fence.
It should be made a felony for Criminals who overstay their visas and Invaders.

I believe we should give amnesty to these poor CRIMINALS or INVADERS.
This should be a 2 week amnesty to get the heck out of our Country.
The ones who ignore this amnesty should be buried in a tent city jail and fined $10,000 or buried elsewhere.
All aiders and abettors of these CRIMINALS or INVADERS should get 1 year in a tent city jail and a $10,000 fine for each CRIMINAL aided.
Those in government should be the first ones charged.

The more I learn about how all of this works the more frustrated I get, and the more I realize that this is a problem without a solution. We are going to lay back (for the most part) and allow our country to disappear. History will laugh at us.

The problem is, most people will keep voting for the idiots in office, instead of voting for a real conservative, because they are afraid a Democrat might get into office.

If I remember correctly, there will be 109 legislative days left for the House this year. Pay them $150.00 for every day worked in session. The President's pay should be pro bono until the borders are secured and properly staffed by the Border Patrol.
