Should New Mexico Still Belong to Mexico?
FOXNews.com ^ | April 18, 2006

This is a partial transcript from "Hannity & Colmes," April 17, 2006, that has been edited for clarity.

ALAN COLMES, CO-HOST: A movement calling for Mexico to take over America's Southwest to create a new nation called Aztlan has entered the immigration debate. Supporters of this movement participated in the recent nationwide immigration protest.

The Web site ImmigrationWatchdog.com has produced a three-minute videotape of speeches by Hispanic professors and elected officials making reference to Aztlan.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: We are not immigrants that came from another country to another country. We are migrants free to travel the length and breadth of the Americas, because we belong here.

We are millions. We just have to survive. We have an aging white America. They are not making babies. They're dying. It's a matter of time. The explosion is in our population.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

COLMES: Joining us now, the man behind ImmigrationWatchdog.com, Brook Young.

Mr. Young, The Washington Times had a story on this whole movement just yesterday and quoted a number of people allegedly in this moment, and they say these are just fringe people. This is not what they're doing. This is really an effort on the part of anti-immigrant forces like yourself to gin up people's emotions in terms of there being a movement that really doesn't exist except on the far fringe.

BROOK YOUNG, IMMIGRATIONWATCHDOG.COM: Oh. Well, there's definitely a movement. This isn't a fringe movement. These are college professors speaking in this video. This is them. This is their voices. This is what they believe in. It's what they teach. These are political leaders of the Latino leaders.

COLMES: I'd like to know who's doing this. Fredrico Rangel of the University of Colorado. He's an officer at MEChA. And he says that this is a.....

Newsflash to these idiots. First we took the land in a war, second we paid for it, hence the term Mexican Cession, third, if NM wants to go back to being part of a third-world hellhole instead of the most innovative on earth, be my guest. Will anybody miss Senators Domenici and Bingaman??

This is an imaginary movement being promoted by academics fantasizing that they are relevant. Profs get a thrill when they try to get down with the homeys in the street, and probably the adolescents and barely-post-adolescents they are used to dealing with are mightily impressed. Oh, and "journalists". They get pretty excited by this stuff too.

Somehow, I don't think these eggheads have asked that question to legal US citizens who reside in New Mexico.

The bleeding hearts that make up the higher percentage of California voters always vote these guys into office. They don't talk about their MEChA ideals when they are campaigning and the newspapers don't bring out their MEChA credentials. What do people think these guys will do when they get into office? The only ones that have been 'outed' as MEChA are Villaraigosa and Bustamante. How many more are already in high California political offices? I do worry formny area.

It wasn't Mexico that ceded lands with the treaties, it was SPAIN. Spain could have just as easily ceded Mexico to the U.S. as California. Mexico was not an independent country when these were ceded, they were colonies of SPAIN. Therefore, they have no more claim to New Mexico and California than they do to the various other former Spanish territories in South and Central America. Why don't they try to lay claim to El Salvador, or Venezuela.

I would say no, and not just because I live here. That would not help property values around here.

COLMES: Well, they're not — they're not literally looking over — to take over the United States or to reclaim parts of our land and call it Mexico. They claim that that is not at all what they're doing and this is more of a spiritual message than anything else.

Right, Alan, /s as you noted, they'll want tocall it Aztlan.

Yes, the Left will sell out American citizens (I'm a naturalized immigrant whose family waited "in line", legally) for votes. They'll do it in a heartbeat, in hopes of (re-)gaining power. We've now been conditioned, seeing wave after wave of unreproached treason, so now in typical incremental fashion, those who seek the power this land can offer will sell us down the river to anyone who will owe/give them tribute.

We have (both fortunately and unfortunately) not had to experience the reason treason deserves death, but we may yet have to pay such consequences as awful as the Rape of Nanking if we don't put a stop to the Rape of America.

"Spiritual," my eye!

Conservatives, it's time to get off our duffs!

"The bleeding hearts that make up the higher percentage of California voters always vote these guys into office."

Voters picked Republican Arnold, not democrat Bustamente. This fact refutes your unsupported claim.

The "bleeding hearts" also passed Prop. 187 for No Benefits, and Prop. 209 for English Language.

I don't agree with giving them CA. Only the eastern half, split it down the middle!/sar Even then, hell no, we won't give any of the US to these fu**ing pirates who are masquerading as immigrants! Run the bast**** back to where they came from, put them in jail.

The government better wake up this or soon there will be massive shooting in the streets!
