We in America know the benevolence that is at the heart of Islam. We've seen it in many ways.

She's right, we have seen it... We've seen it on September 11, 2001, in NY, PA, and Washington, DC. We saw it on TV with Daniel Pearl. And we've seen it again and again, in the repeated broadcasts by Al Jezera. We've seen it over and over again, all over the world.

And it goes back a long time... There was the Nahriah school bus attack in 1970, where terrorists first killed the 3 adults on the bus, then murdered 9 children, and the 19 surviors were left for dead. The children were between the ages of 6 and 9.

In 1974, in Kiryat Shmona, terrorists stormed an apartment building killing 18, 9 of whom were children.

In 1974, in Maalot, 26 people were murdered by terrorists, 21 of whom were children.

The list that proves what "benevolence that is at the heart of Islam" just goes on and on...

How many wars and "skirmishes" are currently going on around the world, that directly involve muslims? And this is the "religion of peace?"

There are a number of reasons that the arab countries have done nothing, other than keeping the palis in squalor. First off, the palis are despised by the other arab countries. I'm not sure that I blame them, after they tried to overthrow the king of Jordan, and what they, with Syria's backing, did to Lebanon. I believe that the Jordanians killed more than 20,000 palis. Secondly, they need them as "cannon fodder," to be used in a war of attrition against Israel, and now, the west. And finally, if the other arab countries actually tried to help any of their people, rather than blaming the Jews, Israel, and the west for all their problems, the people would realize that their actual enemies are their own leaders, and would go after them in the way that they've trained them to go after us "infidels."
