Why Is Georgetown Providing a Platform for This Dangerous Group?
The Washington Post ^ | February 12, 2006 | Eric Adler and Jack Langer

This month Georgetown University plans to host the annual conference of an anti-Israel propaganda group called the Palestine Solidarity Movement (PSM). The PSM certainly is controversial. It is also dangerous.

The purported aim of the PSM is to encourage divestment from Israel. To this end, its conferences boast a cavalcade of anti-Israel speakers whose speeches often degenerate into anti-Semitism. At the 2004 conference at Duke University in North Carolina, for example, keynote speaker Mazin Qumsiyeh referred to Zionism as a "disease." Workshop leader Bob Brown deemed the Six-Day War "the Jew War of '67." Not to be outdone, Nasser Abufarha praised the terrorist activities of Hamas and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.

...

In agreeing to host the PSM from Feb. 17 to Feb. 19, Georgetown can't even claim that its regard for free speech and expression trumps all. In 2005 the university's conference center refused to host an anti-terrorism conference sponsored by America's Truth Forum on the grounds that it was "too controversial." ...

At least we (and the Feds) will know who the bad guys are. Whom to wiretap, whose money trail to follow.

Can you say dhimmitude? These fools don't realize that they'll lose their heads first. Scumbags. We should never forget this.

Dhimmitude reigns at Georgetown. Shame on the Jesuits.

Because Georgetown is infested with self-hating, America-hating, academics and administrators. Lamentably, what was once a great Jesuit college, has become a leftist gulag.

It's one thing to keeps your enemies close...it's quite another to let them loose on the playground with the other kids..and invite them in for milk and cookies..

I would hope that someone is indexing the names of all the members and attendees, and guest speakers, and running them against an OFAC list or something.

I don't give a rats a$$ if this contributes to a "new chill on free speech". It's time to exhume the tactics of Sen. McCarthy. For you DU trolls, read the Venona project. McCarthy was right. Like last time, the enemy is not only among us, they are a part of us.

At first I was thinking this is where Dr. Walter Williams teaches, but he's at George Mason University.

And it seems to be just leading the way for other Jesuit schools across the country. I graduated from 2 Jesuit schools - both high school and college - and wouldn't even consider giving any of their schools one dime. I left school over 30 years ago and, while many Jesuits were always on the liberal side, today the whole order is a hotbed of Marxism, homosexuality and "hate America first" demogoguery. I have met several actual practicing Catholics who honestly weren't even aware that Georgetown was a Catholic school.

"Why Is Georgetown Providing a Platform for This Dangerous Group?"

Simply because they are all Jesuits

Lamentably, what was once a great Jesuit college, has become a leftist gulag.

Bonus points for using the word 'gulag' in a sentence.

Why Is Georgetown Providing a Platform for This Dangerous Group?

Because of pressure from the academia nuts to keep up with Duke.

I heard someone from the school answer the question. They had heard about the group and contacted the FBI who said that it was not on their terrorist group list. Got very little feedback about the group from the FBI. If that is true, then they are justified to go forth with their plans. I just wondered if there was more to the story that we don't know.

Seems they need a Concerned Alumni of Georgetown group. Dry up some of the Alumni Money and the school will suddenly have much different "values". Amazing what complete whores the Universities are. Some trust fund baby is probably writing a big fat check for this.

The purported aim of the PSM is to encourage divestment from Israel.

Your thread title has been answered in the contents of the thread.

IMO however, it appears to be a fruitless and stupid mindset to tote.
