Ratner on Roe......
Fox and Friends | 01/28/06 | Ellen Ratner

Posted on 01/28/2006 4:31:48 AM PST by bert

Ellen Ratner stated the new Democtat talking point on the confirmation of Judge Alito. The strident voice told us that if Roe was overturned, the Republican party was in deep trouble and out of power.

Her threat was strongly stated

Than it should stand to reason that she should be supporting Alito.

Like us wishing for a Dean,Kerry,Gore nomination in '08.

She knows that this is another nail in the coffin of her beloved socialist, humanist dream.

Of course, she has no clue that one judge cannot "turn over" (her words) R v W. And even if it was overturned, it would merely go gack to the states for them to decide.

And what is "**p".

One thing the demonrats fear above all else is states' rights.

They want the federal government to have all the power.

It's sort of funny. In my city, there is a pro life organization that hosts a radio show on a local radio station. The host was talking about children with downs syndrome being aborted and made the comment that in general, a majority of people want abortions to be legal.

He is also talking about a House Bill that is being introduced to outlaw abortion in my state. The theme of the bill is "Let the people decide". Funny, but they don't want to bring it before voters, but push it through the general assembly. Part of the reason is there would be a good possibility it wouldn't pass in a general election and the pro lifers can hang it over the republicans if they don't support it.

Yep, let the people decide unless you might lose.

In a republic, the people we elect make the decisions, not federal judges.

In a republic, the people we elect make the decisions, not federal judges. Oh I see. You were thrilled with CFR too? That was legislature decided. It was taken by conservatives to appointed judges to be overturned.

If the theme is let the people decide, then let the people decide.

In many cases, elected officials are just as bad as federal judges.

RATner is oh so wrong. Once abortion is sent back to the states, the natural focus will turn to the size and breadth of government, and the return to a Constitutional Republic. And that argument won't include the Donkey Party.

What the pro-abortion folks hate and fear most is the idea of having to "lobby" legislators in the individual states in the event that Roe is overturned. That will be both a financial and logistical for them, not to mention the fact that they would be unlikely to succeed. As things are today, they only have to focus their money and attention on Washington and, especially, on senate candidates to keep honest men and women off the Supreme Court.
