"Surprising" only to the Dinosaur Media who have stubbornly tuned out every voice warning them their fixation on the Democrat Talking Points about Iraq was going to turn around and bite their credibility right in the butt. Surprise Surprise "News Media" Iraq turns out to be MORE like we have been telling you and not any where NEAR what your Ideological Puppet Masters at the DNC have been telling you.
Translation: ABC is surprised (and disappointed) their propaganda hasn't been more effective.

Of course, the MSM have to play up the "deep divisions" between the ethnic groups.
The MSM ignores the fact that we have "deep divisions" between the two poltical parties in this country and we function fairly well..
It just had to kill the poor folks at ABC who had to write this story.
Elizabeth Vargas seemed emotionless reporting about the poll in Iraq and Diane Sawyer's mouth was on the floor. She was genuinely shocked that any good news came out of this poll. She led the GMA News with: "You'll be surprised to hear about what this poll of 1700 Iraqis found..."
There are very good news in the poll although some anxiety in the Sunni areas which is expected since they are the minority and the Shia are convinced that they will run the country. But otherwise, good news that President Bush can use to hammer the Do-Nothing, No-Ideas White Flag Democrats.
This "local/national" split is ENTIRELY due to the world/U.S. news media, which hypes attacks and security issues, whereas in their local areas, people just don't see THAT much "terrorism." The media should be ashamed, but, of course, they aren't.
Yes, surprising for the so-called "journalists" of the "Mainstream Newsmedia", who for a long time have believed their own propaganda.
If the willingly self-deluded get off with nothing more than suruprise, they're lucky. Such hubris and denial are often far more costly--if you know what I mean.
They're particularly lucky that the American people didn't believe their relentless, unceasing, morally reprehensible propaganda. Had their propaganda been more effective--i.e. had their mendacity been less transparent--the American people could have been dangerously misled.
As it is, the American people have recognized the "Mainstream Newsmedia" as the ignominious Propaganda Machine that it is and have relegated its so-called "journalists" to the level of snake-oil salesmen, con-artists, and other bottom dwellers, somewhere below used car salesmen and ambulance chasing lawyers, where they belong.

Well, it is now said that if the President starts to draw down troops after the election, and gradually throughout the year, will mean we LOST, we are SAVING FACE, and the critics were right!

Specifically, 26 percent of Iraqis say U.S. and other coalition forces should "leave now" and another 19 percent say they should go after the government chosen in this week's election takes office; that adds to 45 percent. Roughly the other half says coalition forces should remain until security is restored (31 percent), until Iraqi security forces can operate independently (16 percent), or longer (5 percent).
I don't get it. The survey says two-thirds oppose the presence of coalition forces. But then it says that 52% (31%+16%+5%) want coalition forces to remain at least until security is restored, if not longer.
Something doesn't add up here.
It makes sense to me. I probably wouldn't like forces from another country in my backyard either, but if they're protecting me from terrorists I could probably put up with them a while longer.

Actually, the MSM wants "compromise" and "reaching out" in politics. Of course, the compromise and reaching out must be done by those on the right to those on the left.
