She was mauled by a pet Labrador in May, leaving her with severe facial injuries that her doctors said made it difficult for her to speak and eat. The dog was put down.

From this:
To this:
I read that she had overdosed on barbituates and her dog was actually trying to wake her up. When she didn't respond, it kept chewing, I guess. She didn't want the dog to be destroyed because she felt it was trying to help her.
Well, the daughter said she argued with her mother. The mother (the facial receipient) then tried to kill herself with pills after she left. The mother bumbled through the house after taking pills and the dog tried to retrieve her (clawing off her lower face).
Labrador, huh... Isn't this the sort of thing that pit bulls usually get pegged for...
Where did you read this? Is there a link?
I had heard that before and was just trying to find out more about it. She was asleep when the attack happened; how does anyone know for sure what was going on in the dogs mind when the attack occurred? Was there someone else around to corroborate the story? This is a strange story.
I don't know if I could get a face transplant... the thought of someone else's skin on my face just creeps me out. Maybe I'd feel different if I were in that situation, but I don't know.....
seems after all they are all animals...
According to statistics, pits are responsable for more than twice as many deaths as any other breed of dog.
There was a horror movie made once about a guy that had the hands of a murdered grafted onto his own arms after an accident. I'm sure you can imagine what those naughty hands soon started doing...
You gotta link for that?
This sounds like a bad movie.
Actually, it sounds like a soap opera. Guilt tripping the daughter through suicide by insufficient poison, then experimental surgery that changes the appearance of a face enough that the actress can be recast.
It wouldn't be believed if it were fiction.
Oops - "murdered" should be 'murderer.'
Monica's lips. Yikes!
See the way the ferocious Lab shreds the Christmas gift.
You mean NAZI PELOSI GOT ANOTHER FACE (LIFT) TRANSPLANT? Which picture is her??
It sounds more like the lab didn't know his own strength as opposed to attacking to kill. BTW, aren't pit bulls the ones whose jaws can lock so they can't/don't/won't (whatever) let go? I understand that any dog is capable of anything but if the story is accurate, it doesn't sound like maliciousness, just overzealousness.
And we all know why!
