WASHINGTON President Bush expressed his pride Tuesday in military servicemen and women who have been helping with Hurricane Katrina relief.
Speaking in Belle Chasse, La., to National Guardsmen representing 49 states, the president thanked the soldiers for their service.
"I am incredible proud of those who wear our nations uniform and I am incredibly proud of the job you have done. You have brought great credit to your units, credit to your family and credit to our nation," Bush said....

Pres Bush morale boosting trip to the Gulf.
I am incredibly proud of President Bush.
Back away, SR. Just back away. :)
I'm done for tonight starting new threads. It was an OK day for good news the LSM refuses to print.
What ever your ideological or political difference you got to admit Bush loves his troops. Such a refreshing change in Presidential attitude since the other guy left.
My favorite part was watching Molly Hennenberg ( I think thats who it was) trying to pronounce the names of places down here!
She pronounced Belle Chasse (chase) like it rhymed with class. I really like when Mississippi throws Pascagoula and the Tchoutacabouffe (sp) River at em!
Thanks for all your work SR.
I have to say I agree with you. I am incredible proud of our troops. Always have BEEN WILL ALWAYS BE! God love 'em! Being born in the mid 60's, I feel so bad for the military during the Vietnam period. It saddens me to this day.
NPR* played an audio clip that has one of the reporters downright insulting the President with a question that asked (paraphrasing) "are you doing this (helping with Habitat for Humanity) just because you want to be shown in a more favorable light given your initial response following the storm". I think the reporter's voice sounded like David Gregory, but couldn't be sure. Sure wanted to dock him one, though.
(*comes with the classical station I listen to at work)
The sad part of all my posting work is I was able to find these in the few off moments that I had breaks at work by simply doing a check of a few urls; yet the LSM can't.
I work with the military every day and it's the best. God bless you guys. We love you. 8) Really we do love you ;) I pray every night. Thank you!
"I am incredibly proud of President Bush."
Dittos!

Thanks for your continued service in finding posts some times pleasant to read. In stead of getting wishy washy on our troops, I'll just say it is hard to imagine he truly does not have a love in his heart for them. Honor and doing the right thing as best as one can, comes to mind.
I haven't heard of that one. Choota-ka-BOUF? Am I close?
Give that man a Kewpie doll! Choota-ka-buff would perhaps be a more correct (?) phonetic spelling of it but you are pretty darn close!
I salute you! A lot of areas in MS and LA are derived from French, Spanish, and Indian names. Makes for a rather interesting challenge growing up down here!
Carondolet St is always mispronounced and seems to show up all the time on infomercials as an address to write to.
Cuh-ron-duh-lay :) Oh and its not New Orleens, its Nawlins, 1 word people!
You know I dont even notice em doing that to conservative and/or Republicans any more. Its just so expected that they will put that angle on it that I get nervous when they don't.
When I was deployed to Bosnia I had the privilage of dining with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, General Shelton. One of the last things he told us, and he said this with giddyness, was their would be a change in the White House and things would get better for the military. That was October of 2000. What foresight.
I feel just as bad for the Politicians and the hippie dregs that protested our troops back then. Their consciences must be driving them mad. At least I hope so.
