THE REAL CANDIDATE FOR 2008: DICK CHENEY

What does it take to get a really qualified republican to run for President? Perhaps the answer lies right under our noses and we just haven't looked clearly. Back in 2000 when George W. Bush was looking for a Vice Presidential candidate, he asked Dick Cheney to help him find the best person for the job. After looking around, Bush finally realized that the best man was right there by his side and so picked Dick Cheney to serve as VP. And what a great Veep he has been: intelligent, experienced in all aspects of the government, a hawk on the war on terror, and able to preside over the senators on the hill. Yes, he's had heart trouble and a pacemaker was put inside his chest cavity, but he's been relatively healthy (moreso than Bill Clinton) and in my humble opinion, should be seriously considering the job as President.

Cheney/Rice or Rumsfeld/rice would kill HilLIARy/anyone
HilLIARy/Obama might be tought to beat without Rice on the ticket.

I was greatly amused how Cheney ravaged Edwards during the debate. All the liberal media outlets thought that Edwards won, but it seemed to me that Cheney trampled on every point Edwards brought up. He was brilliant!
But he is also getting old and frail. I don't think he will run.

I was always for Cheney as POTUS. However, I do not think would run. He's served our country well, and propbably wants to "pack it in" and retire in Wyoming.

Change his oil. Rotate his tires. Cheney's good for another 100,000 miles.

... in my humble opinion, should be seriously considering the job as President. In my opinion also: I think that Vice President Cheney would make an excellent president.
To: princess leah
Easy solution: Don't put Cheney in charge of the committee to find the candidate.

Cheney's no older than John McCain, who certainly is running. Cheney/Rice is my personal dream ticket, but I think the Veep is sincere that he wants to retire and do more fly fishing.

I get the impression Dick feels he's given enough to his country at this point. Let him retire, spend some time with Lynn, enjoy his grandkids and do some fly fishing.
I've long been a Condi supporter, but it dawns on me that she's not a politician. I don't think she's ever held an elected office, has she? That will probably be her greatest weakness.
Beyond that, Brownback and Kyl might be interesting candidates (although the apology to the indians and this idiotic guest worker bill diminishes each respectively).

I see two problems with a Cheney/Rice ticket.
1) Cheney said he won't do it.
2) Rice is far too intelligent to do it.

Is it 2007 already? Wow. How time flies. I could've sworn that Bush's inauguration was only 6 months ago.

First off, VP CHeney has stated several times that he would NOT run as a candidate.
After looking around, Bush finally realized that the best man was right there by his side and so picked Dick Cheney to serve as VP.
I don't want to start something, but as I recall, Dick Cheney led the search for a VP, and came back proposing his own name as best candidate. At the time I thought it was mighty arrogant, but he certainly seems to be correct.
