When Leninists rule the nation - (SCOTUS decision bodes ill for American liberties)
WORLD NET DAILY.COM ^ | JUNE 25, 2005 | RUDY TAKALA

Posted on 06/25/2005 6:19:52 PM PDT by CHARLITE

In a recent Supreme Court decision, Justice John Paul Stevens wrote, "If the peasants sow the fields poorly, they should be helped – and this particularly applies to the poor peasants – by means of collective cultivation of the large estates. There is no other way of helping the poor peasants." Therefore, "the landed estates must be confiscated immediately."

Actually, that was Vladimir Lenin writing in an issue of the Communist publication Pravda on June 2, 1917. I've compiled a small list of quotes for use in this article, but at times it can be hard to remember who used which ones. It doesn't help that Lenin and Justice Stevens – the oldest member on the court – are roughly the same age. Rest assured that while quotes may be at times confused, no one's beliefs will be misrepresented.

What the Supreme Court ruled on this week is as pertinent to America today as it was to Russia in 1917: the distribution of land. Connecticut statutes express a legislative determination that the taking of land as part of an economic development project is a "public use" and in the "public interest." The point of debate was the constitutionality of a Connecticut city's confiscation of land to that end.

Stevens defended the city, writing in the majority opinion: "The city has carefully formulated an economic development plan that it believes will provide appreciable benefits to the community, including -- but by no means limited to -- new jobs and increased tax revenue." In other words, individual rights take a backseat to economic planning. If the poor peasants aren't using their land as well as others might be able to use it, it can be taken away.

Those who take as permissible the idea of a "public interest" capable of obliterating individual rights are not unheard of. Maybe the justices simply looked to international law as a justifying precedent. In Zimbabwe, thousands of white farmers have had their land dispossessed in recent years. But President Robert Mugabe was only giving farmers a 45-day eviction notice, instead of the legally mandated 90 days. When this complaint was brought before the Zimbabwean Supreme Court, its justices ruled that the "public interest" overrode the "private interests of individual landowners."

And then there's Asia. Official estimates place the number of Chinese who have lost their land in recent years to the construction of roads, dams, housing projects and factories at around 70 million. Last November, government troops opened fire and killed a number of protesters in the Sichuan province, where thousands of residents were protesting the seizure of their land for construction of a hydroelectric dam project.

Of course, agents of the American government would do the same thing. Anyone who resists the confiscation of his or her property will be imprisoned. If someone resists imprisonment, that person, too, will be shot and killed. The only difference between the Chinese and the Americans is that Americans are being more amenable to the demands of their government.

On June 23, America took a step toward better emulating the admirable ways of the "international community" in Kelo et al. v. City of New London. Justices Stevens, Souter, Ginsburg, Breyer and Kennedy won out over Justices Rehnquist, Thomas, Scalia and O'Connor in determining that private property could be taken away for the purpose of giving it to other people.

O'Connor, writing in dissent, said, "Any property may now be taken for the benefit of another private party, but the fallout from this decision will not be random. The beneficiaries are likely to be those citizens with disproportionate influence and power in the political process, including large corporations and development firms."

Resident Bill Von Winkle, who faces sacrifice by government on the altar of the "public interest," said, "I won't be going anywhere. Not my house. This is definitely not the last word." If Americans are truly concerned with freedom, they'll offer to join Von Winkle. It'll be a pitiful day when the Chinese are more willing to die for freedom than Americans.

The senile trash who believe they've been endowed with a divine right to singularly mold the course of the world have driven another nail into the coffin of American freedom. My congratulations go out to Justices Stevens, Bader, Souter, Ginsburg and Breyer. You've proven that rights don't proceed from God. They proceed from you.

Is a Supreme Court seat property? In the public interest I nominate Ginsburg as the first one to lose it in favor of this kid. ( With the just compensation of a swift kick in the ass for all her fine work! )

I've seen property as discussed in this thread and others include intellectual property, i.e. copyrights and patents. Wouldn't another form of property be my bank account? After all, it's just a place I store my "property" in a form that's easily accessible and transferrable.

So, does the recent decision by SCOTUS mean that my financial property can be seized and given to some other giant account simply because the government can obtain more taxes from a larger account than they can from my small pittance?

If that is so, then what? Communistic "redistribution" of my wealth...my "property" that I worked my lifetime to accumulate?

Curious minds wanna know?

Heartbroken in Arizona

That particular battle was lost long ago, and it was even done proper with an admendment! The income tax has no limits on it, in theory they can sieze it all. It's pretty much been downhill ever since.

We have sown the seeds for the last 30 years for the liberal whirlwind and now it is coming to pass. Not since Dredd Scott has America been enslaved by judicial idiots.

Sadly we will see how corrupt our local governments are. I predict a property boom in the "red" states.

The kid hit the nail right on the head, of course.

This court ruling disgusts me. They have basically eliminated all property rights with it. It is only a matter of time before they declare the Constitution itself to be unconstitutional. I sure wish that were a joke, but they are basically shredding everyone's rights bit by bit.

Where were all of those moaning about this decision about 25 years ago?

Around 25 years ago the City of Detroit siezed an entire neighborhood in order to raze the houses and construct the GM Poletown plant.

That decision was finally overturned by the Michigan Supreme Court, but that was more than 20 years after the deed was done.

Obviously this kinda thing - siezing property for private enterprise - has been going on for a long time.

Communist Goals (1963)

Congressional Record--Appendix, pp. A34-A35

January 10, 1963

Current Communist Goals

EXTENSION OF REMARKS OF HON. A. S. HERLONG, JR. OF FLORIDA

IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

Thursday, January 10, 1963

Mr. HERLONG. Mr. Speaker, Mrs. Patricia Nordman of De Land, Fla., is an ardent and articulate opponent of communism, and until recently published the De Land Courier, which she dedicated to the purpose of alerting the public to the dangers of communism in America.

At Mrs. Nordman's request, I include in the RECORD, under unanimous consent, the following "Current Communist Goals," which she identifies as an excerpt from "The Naked Communist," by Cleon Skousen:

[From "The Naked Communist," by Cleon Skousen]

CURRENT COMMUNIST GOALS

1. U.S. acceptance of coexistence as the only alternative to atomic war.

2. U.S. willingness to capitulate in preference to engaging in atomic war.

3. Develop the illusion that total disarmament [by] the United States would be a demonstration of moral strength.

4. Permit free trade between all nations regardless of Communist affiliation and regardless of whether or not items could be used for war.

5. Extension of long-term loans to Russia and Soviet satellites.

6. Provide American aid to all nations regardless of Communist domination.

7. Grant recognition of Red China. Admission of Red China to the U.N.

8. Set up East and West Germany as separate states in spite of Khrushchev's promise in 1955 to settle the German question by free elections under supervision of the U.N.

9. Prolong the conferences to ban atomic tests because the United States has agreed to suspend tests as long as negotiations are in progress.

10. Allow all Soviet satellites individual representation in the U.N.

11. Promote the U.N. as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government with its own independent armed forces. (Some Communist leaders believe the world can be taken over as easily by the U.N. as by Moscow. Sometimes these two centers compete with each other as they are now doing in the Congo.)

12. Resist any attempt to outlaw the Communist Party.

13. Do away with all loyalty oaths.

14. Continue giving Russia access to the U.S. Patent Office.

15. Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.

16. Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights.

17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers' associations. Put the party line in textbooks.

18. Gain control of all student newspapers.

19. Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack.

20. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policymaking positions.

21. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures.

22. Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to "eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings, substitute shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms."

23. Control art critics and directors of art museums. "Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art."

24. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them "censorship" and a violation of free speech and free press.

25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.

26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural, healthy."

27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity which does not need a "religious crutch."

28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state."

29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.

30. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the "common man."

31. Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of the "big picture." Give more emphasis to Russian history since the Communists took over.

32. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture--education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.

33. Eliminate all laws or procedures which interfere with the operation of the Communist apparatus.

34. Eliminate the House Committee on Un-American Activities.

35. Discredit and eventually dismantle the FBI.

36. Infiltrate and gain control of more unions.

37. Infiltrate and gain control of big business.

38. Transfer some of the powers of arrest from the police to social agencies. Treat all behavioral problems as psychiatric disorders which no one but psychiatrists can understand [or treat].

39. Dominate the psychiatric profession and use mental health laws as a means of gaining coercive control over those who oppose Communist goals.

40. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.

41. Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents.

42. Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American tradition; that students and special-interest groups should rise up and use ["]united force["] to solve economic, political or social problems.

43. Overthrow all colonial governments before native populations are ready for self-government.

44. Internationalize the Panama Canal.

45. Repeal the Connally reservation so the United States cannot prevent the World Court from seizing jurisdiction [over domestic problems. Give the World Court jurisdiction] over nations and individuals alike.

Communist Manifesto

1. Abolition of private property and the application of all rent to public purpose.
The 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution (1868), and various zoning, school & property taxes. Also the Bureau of Land Management

ADD this SCOTUS ruling.

2. A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.
Misapplication of the 16th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, 1913, The Social Security Act of 1936.; Joint House Resolution 192 of 1933; and various State "income" taxes. We call it "paying your fair share".

3. Abolition of all rights of inheritance
We call it Federal & State estate Tax (1916); or reformed Probate Laws, and limited inheritance via arbitrary inheritance tax statutes.

4. Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels
We call in government seizures, tax liens, Public "law" 99-570 (1986); Executive order 11490, sections 1205, 2002 which gives private land to the Department of Urban Development; the imprisonment of "terrorists" and those who speak out or write against the "government" (1997 Crime/Terrorist Bill); or the IRS confiscation of property without due process.

5. Centralization of credit in the hands of the State, by means of a national bank with state capital and an exclusive monopoly.
We call it the Federal Reserve which is a credit/debt system nationally organized by the Federal Reserve act of 1913. All local banks are members of the Fed system, and are regulated by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). This private bank has an exclusive monopoly in money creation which in reality has ended the need for revenue from taxes. So why do they tax? To FOOL YOU into thinking they need them.

6. Centralization of the means of communication and transportation in the hands of the State
We call it the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and Department of Transportation (DOT) madated through the ICC act of 1887, the Commissions Act of 1934, The Interstate Commerce Commission established in 1938, The Federal Aviation Administration, Federal Communications Commission, and Executive orders 11490, 10999, as well as State mandated driver's licenses and Department of Transportation regulations. There is also the postal monopoly, AMTRACK and CONRAIL

7. Extention of factories and instruments of production owned by the State, the bringing into cultivation of waste lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan.
We call it corporate capacity, The Desert Entry Act and The Department of Agriculture. As well as the Department of Commerce and Labor, Department of Interior, the Evironmental Protection Agency, Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Reclamation, Bureau of Mines, National Park Service, and the IRS control of business through corporate regulations.

8. Equal liablity of all to labor. Establishment of Industrial armies, especially for agriculture.
We call it the Social Security Administration and The Department of Labor. The National debt and inflation caused by the communal bank has caused the need for a two "income" family. Woman in the workplace since the 1920's, the 19th amendment of the U.S. Constitution, the Civil Rights Act of 1964, assorted Socialist Unions, affirmative action, the Federal Public Works Program and of course Executive order 11000. And I almost forgot...The Equal Rights Amendment means that women should do all work that men do including the military and since passage it would make women subject to the draft.

9. Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries; gradual abolition of the distinction between town and country by a more equable distribution of the population over the country.
We call it the Planning Reorganization act of 1949 , zoning (Title 17 1910-1990) and Super Corporate Farms, as well as Executive orders 11647, 11731 (ten regions) and Public "law" 89-136.

10. Free education for all children in government schools. Abolition of children's factory labor in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production, etc. etc.
People are being taxed to support what we call 'public' schools, which train the young to work for the communal debt system. We also call it the Department of Education, the NEA and Outcome Based "Education" .

Here's my silly little problem. I'm a real estate investor. I was planning on diversifying and investing in farm land. I'm rethinking any type of investment in this country now. What stops some local body from turning around and "taking" what I purchase and pay me pennies on the dollar. I don't want to build another shopping center, I was thinking long term farm land as a rentable commodity.

That has been happening in NJ since 1999 (that I know of)

Farms have been seized left and right.

You may remember hearing about this most famous one. Our former Governor (Gay American) threatened this farmer.

http://www.usdoj.gov/usao/nj/publicaffairs/NJ_Press/files/dami0127_r.htm

Remember this story? Political bribes a la McGreevey "Machiavellian" style?

I stupidly thought the Halper Farm issue was put to rest since this scandal was busted.

Washington Stables http://www.washingtonstables.com owned by Halper's Family Farm will be shut down by October 2005 a la eminent domain.

(NO, not the only story, just the one that got the most media coverage)

You are right, it has been going on for a long time. I believe it will go more quickly now. What is to stop a person or corporation with the ear of his elected officials from taking your property or mine? Nothing. Nothing at all, all he has to do is say he will provide more taxes to the government--and when was the last time you heard the government of anything say "No, thanks anyway" to more money.

I am really concerned that there is not more traction on this development, it was all over the web yesterday but now seems to be fading away. If we do nothing, but depend on our States to protect our property, we will rue the day! The Constitution of the United States should rein supreme and anyone who thinks it does not guarantee the rights of free people to own their property, free from seizure by the Government, is brain dead---or has an very unhealthy agenda for the common man.

As I understand it, they pay taxes on property separately than what they pay the bank for mortgage.
I am ignorant of the payment details, but it seems it would be fairly simple to start a nationwide property tax revolt.

Some oldies (on this site) but goodies...
Also;..

Democracy is the road to socialism. Karl Marx
Democracy is indispensable to socialism. The goal of socialism is communism. V.I. Lenin
The meaning of peace is the absence of opposition to socialism.- Karl Marx

I hate it when the word democracy is used.. most have no clue the difference between what some democracy and "A" democracy, "IS"... actually its the democrats greatest secret weapon.. Today being against "A" democracy would be looked on as silly.. When "A" democracy is Mob Rule.. America is NO democracy..

Thats why the U.S. Constitution has three words ABSENT,,,
1) democracy..
2) democratic...
3) democrat.. ON PURPOSE
