It is the only city I know, with the possible exception of Boston, that has a personalityYou should get out more - Las Vegas has a lot of personality, for example. Atlanta has personality. Charlotte NC has personality. Many cities and towns have personality. That being said, I have visited Boston many times and find its provincialism to be a huge turn off. That is to say, it has a personality, but just a bad one. :-)

No sane person would prefer to live in Salt Lake City than San Francisco. Then I must be insane. San Francisco smells of p!ss and has roving gangs of drunk, stoned, muderous, insane homeless bums. SLC has none of that. I'd choose SLC over SF any day.
