It is the only city I know, with the possible exception of Boston, that has a personality

You should get out more - Las Vegas has a lot of personality, for example. Atlanta has personality. Charlotte NC has personality. Many cities and towns have personality. That being said, I have visited Boston many times and find its provincialism to be a huge turn off. That is to say, it has a personality, but just a bad one. :-)

I've lived in and around Boston most of my life and...I agree!

Heh. Like Philly. We've got personality to spare -- all bad :) The granola people in SF make me want to throw up. What wusses!
