BAGHDAD, Iraq - The number of U.S. military deaths in Iraq rose to 1,500 after the military announced Thursday that a soldier was killed in action just south of the capital, an Associated Press count showed.

That might mean something if Saddam was the one who attacked us on 9/11. That was someone else, remember?
Wrong.
Are you saying that isn't worth it?
Are you saying that the people of the Middle East aren't 'good enough' to save?
That makes you a !!!
Now look who hates our troops.
I just thought of an easier way we could have done this. We could have taken all of the millions and millions of Iraqis who wanted to be free and brought them to the US. Of course, Saddam would want something in return, soooooo, we could have sent every last DU'er type lunatic over to Iraq to repopulate the country. Surely the raving lunatics being sent to Iraq would have jumped at this offer, seeing as how the US is such a brutal police state lead by a tyrannical idiot/genius and Iraq under Saddam was such a paradise where children flew kites in the street everyday. What good liberal wouldn't take that trade?
But since it's too late now, maybe we can talk Iran and North Korea into this trade. No war, tyrants (I mean benevolent leaders) in NK and Iran satisfied, and millions of people yearning for freedom get to live in the US, and libs get to leave their brutal police state. Everyone is happy.
Troll.
Why don't you have a chat with Senator Kennedy about that?
:eyeroll:
You only like American soldiers who betray their comrades and cause and country.
aww man did it have to be a bird? ;-)
Not only do I love our troops, I was one. And I would have to be pulled off that treasonous piece of crap who sold out my Dad and so many others who bravely fought for freedom.
You're not getting very far with your snide little talking points, huh? And I notice that you're ignoring an awful lot of statistics and strong points just to throw another lame barb or two.
Doesn't it bother you, even a little, that you directly aid and abet the enemy and contribute to that KIA number (which you intentionally inflate) over which you fret?
I never said it was over, and yes those losses will get higher.
That being said, the losses to this point are more than "acceptable" from a military standpoint.
If you know of a way to fight wars without losses I'd be happy to hear about it.
Bovine Excrement!
The American people who frequent this board already have a vast understanding of the truth versus the tripe that those such as yourself seek to spew on a regular basis.
You and your so called "truth" is nothing but the same old tired, cowardly, pathetic pacifist drivel that has become the calling card of Liberals/Progressives/Democrats in this country.
Fighting wars is only acceptable when a corrupt, impeached, pathologically lying rapist needs to shift public attention away from his debacles.
On the first day of the Civil War there were reportedly 5,000 casualties (Sumpter wasn't a real battle). This was at First Manassas and was expected to be nothing more than a mild skirmish. Admittedly these were not all deaths and the figure represents both sides. Just a little perspective. Was it worth it?
The media has discovered another number that ends in multiple zeros.
1. Kerry renounced his military service and was working with the Communist governments of the USSR and North Vietnam to undermine our effort in Vietnam.
2. Oil for food, by all indications, helped finance many al qaeda projects, and may have helped finance 9-11.
Pull your head out of Michael Moore's butt for two minutes and try to look at what has really been going on. But you know what? Everything you've said so far indicates that you're a part of the problem. You are what we are fighting - the effort to put the power, wealth and productive capacity of the U.S. in slavery to the thugs and warlords of the world. I have lost my tolerance for enemies of this country who hide behind the facade of "debate".
It's weakness like yours that Bin Laden was counting on. He thought Americans were squeamish and unable to handle a real war. You are proving that he was right about certain Americans (do you still use that term to describe yourself, or are you an internationalist, or a humanist?).
A war nearly 2 years old. Historically very low casualties, for both sides. We mourn the soldiers who did die, and are thankful that so many come back safe. Keep historical perspective on this. I suggest you look into past wars and see their casualty figures.
And the use of 1500 as some magic political number is disgusting. 1500 Americans died to give freedom to 26 million Iraqis, not to mention the awakenings in Lebanon, Egypt, Syria, Saudi Arabia, and Iran. That you still fail to understand that is pitiful and testament to your repugnance, as well as short-sightedness.
