But the fact remains that Hannity is a terrible spokesman for the conservative movement.

And he's an asshat.

I listen to Hannity everyday....he is the most self-absorbed, redundant dope on the radio...when he debates libs he misses so many opportunities to put them in their place.

He went on and on and on about the See BS fraud document story and I never once heard him give credit to Freep!

Why do I listen? Because he'll say- "and this from the AP" and will tear off a story I did not see.

LOL, yep and I love to be teased, too. (ahem) I was not really that offended by Sean. But I couldn't resist commenting on his comparing the FReepers to "the fringe" which, IMHO, put him on the fringe of far right MSNNBCCBSCNN commentators. But I do think he is a bore. He gets stuck repeating the same message and questions over and over. I stopped watching him a while ago.

I would rather see a rerun of The Ragin' Cajun Carville put the trashcan over his head. Now, that was good commentary!

My problem isn't so much with what Hannity said as it is with why he said it.

To single out this forum with ignorant and derogatory characterizations simply in an effort to increase participation within his own forum is as cheap and low a tactic as there is.

The slime-factor is off the charts.

Actually,Rush has bashed and trashed FR more often and far worse,than what Sean said today.

I'm not denying that. The difference is, Hannity did it in an attempt to attract people to his forum. ("Don't go to that place. They're a bunch of crazy fringe types. Come to my place. It's better.")

There was also the disingenuousness of Hannity's claims today. I would think that any reputable reporter, radio host, or television host who commented in any way on Ra^thergate would have been to Free Republic within the last two years.

That said, there are kooks everywhere. (Some probably even consider me one on occasion. I'm a member of that fringe group that hates small kitchens!) No idea how Hannity thinks his Forum is going to be immune from them.

Rush has always recognized political sites, such as ours, as a threat to him. But, he has always handled it by being amusing, as in his pic of us Freepers on his site. He has neither courted us or vilified us.

Sean, on the other hand, slapped us with an open hand. If he feels threatened by blogs and websites such as ours and hopes to do the same on his website, then he made a big mistake today.

Well, FINALLY I got the sound bite to play on the media player.

My response is disappointment. Seems he's attacking this site and people in a hope to get people to participate on his site.

It was attacking others for the purpose of self promotion and nothing else.

That's it, I am no longer listening to Hannity.

I used to support him here as some made fun of him. My position was that it may take all kinds of avenues for people to find conservatism and Sean was just a way...

Sean is trying to use this site to market himself. I think that is a bad deal.

It's not my site, but I would ban any posts of him here after this is all vented out. Just my opinion...
