There have been BIGGER tsunamis (which does not discount the size or tragedy of the Indonesian tsunami disaster).

I only half-read the headline and saw "Ancient Cretaceous Catastrophe" and thought this would be about Helen Thomas or Madeline Albright!

The Hawaiian Islands bear evidence of seas having
reached 1000 ft. Might have been a local problem,
though, such as back-splash from a massive underwater
landslide.
