Geology Picture of the Week, January 2-8, 2005: Evidence of Ancient Cretaceous Catastrophe
I only half-read the headline and saw "Ancient Cretaceous Catastrophe" and thought this would be about Helen Thomas or Madeline Albright!

> There have been BIGGER tsunamis (which does not discount
> the size or tragedy of the Indonesian tsunami disaster).
The Hawaiian Islands bear evidence of seas having
reached 1000 ft. Might have been a local problem,
though, such as back-splash from a massive underwater
landslide.
