Bush won .. 44 is the NEW number .. we don't have to listen Daschle whine again, and ain't it a kick??
God Bless America, President Bush, Vice President Cheney, all our leaders, the Republic campaigners who worked SO hard, and ESPECIALLY our unbelievably brave troops!
Pray pray pray .. and just a little gloat every now and then to realize how incredible this victory was. Thank you, God.

(Yes DUmmies, we stole the election, but you'll never figure out how. Love, the VRWC.)
To: STARWISE
Actually he is still 43. The number does not change if a POTUS is re-elected. Thus Clinton was 42 even though he was elected twice, Reagan 40, etc.

The only President who gets two numbers is Grover Cleveland, since his two terms were not consecutive. Cleveland was #22 and #24.

George H.W. Bush was our 41st president, Clinton was X42 while serving two terms. I believe President George W. Bush will remain our 43rd President.

Maybe STARWISE is of the opinion that Albert Armand Gore was our President from 2001-2005...

If we allow him to be called "44", are we subconsciously acknowleging Gore as the real "43"? I think we ought to resist this.

It's only "44" if one is inclined to believe the myth that AlGore was actually "43".

I believe he is speaking of the number of Democratic Senators come late January 2005.
To: krb
Correct - Grover Cleveland was different.
I should have said he's the 43rd change of presidents, which is really what they count.
