The Canteen is an oasis in these trying times.

Once the election is over it will continue to be.

Minus the political stuff.

Ok - funny story. One of our good friends LOVES blackberry jam, so I made a batch for him a couple of years ago. His wife was preggo at the time. When I handed him the jars he said "This is better than sex." I laughed my butt off and from then on "making blackberry jam" became all of our euphemism for IT. He he he!!

I picked almost a gallon of wild blackberries this summer and have them in the freezer. Eventually I will get around to making another batch. I am considering jelly though because I just don't care for the seeds.

I LOVE the seeds...but then I have a stomach of steel or something.

My neighbor used to give me peaches off his tree, years ago...and I'd make up pies, complete w/the crust, and freeze them uncooked...for having in the winter. THAT was one WONDERFUL treat!!!

It's a texture thing - when I'm chewing. They don't bother me otherwise!
