Will John Kerry issue in an age of a stronger America as his campaign bumper stickers state? I have found quite the contrary, and have provided documentation.
In the mid 1960s he tried to avoid military service for 12 months so he could continue his studies in Paris, according to Britains Telegraph. [1] Then he served 4 ½ months in Vietnam. Though he claimed a Purple Heart for his first injury, his own diary for that day states, we hadn't been shot at yet. [2] According to the Military Order of the Purple Heart, you have to be wounded to get the medal. [2]
Kerry then went from fighting the North Vietnamese to shilling for them in Congress. In 1971, he told Congress that American military members wantonly raped, maimed, killed and generally ravaged the countryside of South Vietnam. [3] USA Today reported that a lot of Vietnam vets would dispute these claims. [4] After the war, Kerry marched alongside what the Boston Herald Traveler called revolutionary Communists. [5]
While in the Senate, Kerry pushed for normalizing U.S.-Vietnamese relations. The Senator got in hot water when Hanoi awarded Colliers International an exclusive real estate deal worth billions. The CEO of Colliers, Stuart Forbes, is Kerry's cousin. [6]
The Senator has opposed every major weapons system that helped the U.S. in fighting the cold war, the Gulf War, and the war on Islamist terror, including the the B-1 bomber, B-2 stealth bomber, AH-64 Apache helicopter, Patriot missile, the F-15, F-14A and F-14D jets, the AV-8B Harrier jet, the Aegis air-defense cruiser, and the Trident missile system. [18] In 1995, Kerry sponsored a bill that would have slashed the U.S. intelligence budget by $1.5 billion over a span of five years -- after the first World Trade Center bombing. [19]
Kerry claims to be the champion of victims of the conservative Bush economy." But he voted for NAFTA (Mexico/Canada) in 1993 [7] and later for trade liberalization agreements with China, Singapore, Chile, and Africa. [7] The AP reports that many American jobs have been lost to these regions. [8] Kerry talks like a protectionist but votes like a libertarian.
Kerry voted to support the war in Iraq. [9] He voted for regime change in Iraq twice (1998 and 2002). [10] Then Kerry voted against funding our troops in Iraq [10], stating I actually did vote for the $87 billion before I voted against it. [11] Two weeks before that, he told CBS, I don't think any United States senator is going to abandon our troops. [11] Kerry called himself an anti-war candidate but now says he supports the war. [12]
At his national convention, Kerry tried to look tough on terror. But he told the Washington Post that the war on terror should be a law enforcement operation [12] and that the threat of terrorism is exaggerated. [13] After 9/11, the Bali bombing, the Madrid bombing, etc., he wants to use police against al-Qaeda?
First Kerry enthusiastically supported the Patriot Act; then he decided it was draconian. [10] Kerry enthusiastically supported President Bushs education policy (No Child Left Behind), but now he opposes it. [10] In October 2003, Kerry called Israels controversial security fence a barrier to peace, [15] while in February 2004, Kerry called it a legitimate act of self-defense. [16]
So what is Kerry, a communist, capitalist, pro-war, anti-war, libertarian, or conservative? Looking at his record, I cant figure it out. As the 9/11 Commission pointed out, we are in a war against Islamist terrorism. [17] This is a war to preserve civilization, no less necessary than was the defeat of fascism and communism. Historically speaking, Kerry looks a lot more like Neville Chamberlain than he does Winston Churchill.

The Dolphin Debates
Can we have him wear flip-flops and stand behind a stick podium while he's debating himself?
Good evening. I'm Jim Lehrer and tonight we have Senator John Flipper Kerry, Democratic Nominee for President of the United States, debating himself on a wide range of issues from Social Security to the French approach to the War on Terrorism. Due to the fact that Senator Kerry really doesn't like it when people question his position, this format will be simple. I'll ask the candidate a question and he'll respond with both of his positions. He will not be allowed to rebut.
Shalom.
I know I'm talking to myself, but I still think we should call him Senator Ricebutt.
Shalom.
Brilliant!
