Associated Press: One-sided platform for Kerry, Democrats

By Floyd Geron Looney

Internet- An article run by the AP allowed the Kerry campaign to make unfounded accusations without any questions being raised. The Kerry campaign argued that 57,000 black Americans were denied the vote in Palm Beach County and one million nationally.

These unfounded allegations have been growing more and more ridiculous with each retelling. In actual fact there are about 100,000 voting-age black Americans in Palm Beach County, according to the 2000 US Census. The idea that a majority was denied the vote is easy to dismiss and quite laughable.

The United States Civil Rights Commission found no systematic civil rights violations occurred in Palm Beach County. The County is run by Democrats and is heavily Democratic. The very idea that Democrat election officials would discriminate against black voters should be considered ludicrous.

The allegation of a million black voters being blocked from voting mationwide is also easy to dismiss, any organized campaign on the scale would have been easily spotted. Indeed, the counties they always bring up are run by Democrats. The only organized campaign to throw out votes were votes cast by overseas military personnel. These votes were most likely heavily Republican.

That the allegations came from the Kerry campaign is not a surprise, indeed it is the kind of ‘Big Lie’ we have come to expect from the far-left. The fact that the Associated Press would let this idiotic claim go without comment or balance should worry anyone who believes in free and fair elections.

The people who make these claims cannot give you any names, at least names of people who really were discriminated against in the 2000 election. The leftist media, like the Associated Press, have never tried to find these people. They know these people do not exist.

The liberal media has become a partisan player instead of an observer, they even allow the truth to be thrown out when it suits their political agenda.

It is high time that the media, if it wishes to claim any kind of fairness, to challenge the claims of the left. They should investigate the claim that a million black voters were illegally denied the right to vote. Why have they not done this in the last four years?

Obviously they know very well it is a lie. Yet they have no compunction to allow these claims to go unchallenged and unbalanced in their articles.

The liberal media gave Joe Wilson a platform and a megaphone to make his now dismissed claims about Iraq attempting to buy ‘yellowcake’ from Niger. He was allowed to come onto television programs and got front-page treatment in the media for many months. When his claims were shown to be nothing more than bald-face lies the media reported nothing.

Now the Associated Press is suing the Pentagon for the full military records of President George W. Bush. It is a very obvious and partisan attempt to re-awaken the unfounded claims that he was AWOL in his National Guard days.

Yet the Associated Press does not even care that the military records of John Kerry haven’t been released. The controversy surrounded the Kerry service records are more heated and have much more validity that the trumped up claims about Bush.

A majority of the swift-boat veterans who knew Kerry dispute his claims and his medals. They have even hired a private investigator, held press conferences and sent out news releases. Yet they are ignored by the liberal media.

Yet there is not one major news outlet that cares to find out the truth about John Kerry. Indeed they continue to label Kerry a ‘hero’ for his four months of service.

The media will quote Kerry referring to Vice President Cheney’s alleged use of a curse word in a private conversation but they would never mention that Kerry used the same word for publication in a magazine.

The double standards on the part of the media are endless, and they are always tilted in favor of the left. If there is anyone who still believes the media is not biased to the very far left, they are just ignorant.

More balance than the entire 'mainstream' media combined.

The conservative media should run those sorts of articles more often with links added.

Its not the evidence, its not the facts, its not that nothing was found to prove otherwise. To liberals, what matters is the seriousness of the charge leveled.

Heck, Major Owens claimed "hundreds of millions" of black slaves were thrown overboard on their way to the New World, changing the "ecology of the oceans" forever.

What's a mere 57,000 in the face of that claim??

57,000 out of about 100,000. Whats the average turnout for blacks in Florida?

This would not be like the story the press carried that the Republicans wanted to starve children.

I remember calling a reporter at the Pittsburgh post gazette on that one. I asked him if he believed the Republicans literally wanted to starve children. He said no. I asked him why he printed it then. He said he was only quoting what the Democrat was saying. I asked him what his journalism professor would have thought of his single source story?

These jerks in the press are so transparent. It is not journalism they are practicing. It is advocacy.

I don't know exactly, but I think it was higher than it was for whites.

Maybe 53%?

Amazing how they couldn't come up with a single person who was eligible to vote, but wasn't allowed to...

Exactly. It is hard to understand why they can't at least have the pretense of fairness like they used to. They use to at least run a line or a quote from the 'other side', hardly anymore.

The RATS have lost track of all the lies they tell. They tell a lie and then blame the Bush Administration for telling it. I can't believe this. The unfortunate part is that 40% or so of the American public believes them. what a shame.

All absolutely true, but when the country has been dragged down and more citizens dead from the self destructive policies of the left, who will be to blame?

This article is only 16 very short paragraphs, yet it decisively deals with several issues. Why are these not the talking points of every republican, including the President? I know the democrats are the enemy. In the end, I will curse the ineffectiveness of the republicans.

Exactly. How many investigative reports into the 'stolen election' have you seen? How many interviews have they done on television about being blocked from voting? How many covers of the magazines have had a photo of black voters who were stopped?

Don't you think if the media thought it had a shred of evidence they would look into it??

The liberal media keeps that idea going knowing full-well that its a load of bunk!

Excellent article. Cuts to the chase. Now if the Republican politicians would repeat truth as often as RATs repeat lies....and as loudly, just maybe average Americans would get a little balance.

Ping to a really good article.

The AP is suing for Bush's military records, even though we now know the AWOL story is bunk. They want to revive it for the elections. They do not even care about the truth of Kerry's military records.

The pig farmers of Iowa wish they had the manure shoveling abilities that Kerry apparently has.

The U. S. A. is too great of a place to allow this to happen, yet down the toilet we go. It is time for a "thinning out".

Even if Bush wins handily, I think Kerry's lawyers are going to try and steal the election. Then as that 'controversy' is staged they will whip up inner-cities towards rioting. Its a bad feeling, but I think they are going to try.
