What evil people we are sharing the planet with these days. And they say that the conservatives are the mean spirited ones. What liars they are.
" For Belgian Friends " is on the DOMO ARIGATO disc ( Live in Japan ) . I believe I have that on CD ( know I have the album ) . I can do you a copy if I do in fact have the CD . I first came to Japan for a visit in May 1985 , and missed the Durutti Column in Tokyo concert ( Domo Arigato ) by two days ! I was SO disappointed , but did get to see NEW ORDER . I'l check the CD collection when I get home .
One year during the station's fundraising Radiothon, jocks were supposed to do a one-hour feature during their show. My feature was The Heliocentric Worlds of Sun Ra, Vol 1 & 2. Twenty minutes into it, the two yahoos who were running the Radiothon suggested I change my feature. I refused, proudly claiming "This is what the kids want to hear!"
God bless ya ! If you haven't read it , " Space Is The Place - The Life and Times of Sun Ra " by John F. Szwed is a MUST read .
It occurred to me last night that the song is on "Valuable Passages", not "Live..." as I thought. I did not know it was on anything else. I'd really like to find the studio version but now I know, if all else fails, I can pick up the live one. Thanks for the info!
How about this one:
"A crack on the head
Is just what you get
Why ? because of who you are !
And a crack on the head
Is just what you get
Why ? because of what you are !
A crack on the head
Because of :
Those things you said
Things you said
The things you did"
Maybe someone should follow his advice?
Who the hell was Morrisey and why should I give Hillary Clinton's left testicle?
Johnny Marr is a greatly revered guitarist in England, btw. Virtually no one in the US has ever heard of him, but across the pond he is the stuff of legend.
"She Sells Sanctuary" has one of the nicest riffs of all time. The lyrics are utterly unintelligible, but it's a pretty cool song.
Wasn't "She Sells Sanctuary" done by The Cult?
Oops. You're right.
I know there is one song by The Smiths that has a terrific riff and a great sound. Can't recall that one right now, though.
This message brought to you by the Truth in Music Labeling Foundation.
Ironically, one of The Smiths better songs.
Fits Morrissey to a "T".
I always thought Ian Asbury sounded like Weezy Jefferson.
... And now he knows how Joan of Arc felt. : )
