Great, give the left another tool that they can turn on us when they get back in power. I think that sometimes those in congress do not quite think things thru before they propose them.

Time to take stock, learn from history, and design a new system: based on, but different, from the old.
Of course, you'll have to win agreement, one way or another, from all those who feed off the destruction of the current system.
