It has a 7¾-inch barrelNow THAT'S a scattergun. Great for close-in urban and village combat.

The lightweight shotgun system has three configurations. The attachment variation, top, will be the one fielded to the 10th Mountain Division

It has a 7¾-inch barrel Does that mean I can now legally own a sawed off shotgun? I'm thinking the Miller decision is now a moot point.

shouldn't he be wearing eye protection?

I remember, about 20+ years ago, seeing an article in either SOF or a gun magazine about a man who developed a select fire, drum fed shotgun (can't remember if it was recoil or gas operated). He used an AR-15 or AR-180 as the platform, i.e. stock and grip.
They had pictures of him firing full auto and it was quite impressive. It looked like a savage weapon.

There was a revolver pistol shotgun that used 210's.
What if the "short" shotgun is designated a pistol? marked, designated by the manufacturer as a "pistol"?

Lets see we cut the AR-15 down to M-4 configuration to make it MOUT handy
then throw a 12 gauge under it...magazine fed?
Whatever...
The new German made in USA XM-8 will be here soon enough...
Hopefully the Generals will stay out of the fray and let the ground pounders work out what they need apart from politicians and Generals trying to line up their post military defense contractor careers

Isn't he gonna tear off his thumb after the first shot?
It looks like he's got it hooked around the action.
