The Costco in Worcester closed, and we didn't renew our Sam's because the one closest to us closed, too. We have a membership at BJ's Wholesale club. I hope it isn't part of the Dump Bush crowd.

I was just about to get ready to go to Costco, when I gave in to the urge to check FreeRepublic. Now I don't know what to do. I feel bad for the people who work there, who are my neighbors and have nothing at all to do with the idiotic political views of the corporate executives.

Anyway, I too will be doing all my grocery shopping at Safeway.

Yeah, I think bureaucrats, as a rule, owe their jobs to Democrat type thinking.

The problem here in SC is when I am in Charleston, I shop there because all the supermarkets and fuel stations are $old out to our state's big left-wing government expansion. Costco doesn't sell out to that.

That is my #1 rule in fuel. Don't buy gas from ANYONE involved in expanding our state's government with a casino, and Costco is one of the few non-casino fuel sites in the area.

I'd rather buy non-casino gas than anywhere with a casino anyday.

I like Costco alot. It's a good outfit. I'm sorry to hear some of the execs are big contributors to the Dems.

I guess if you're wealthy enough, you can afford socialism to a degree. Seems like most of the worlds' wealthiest men are leftists. Big business often supports politically correct causes too, sometimes through foundations.

I won't buy Levis anymore, because the owners put the entire corporation behind political correctness. But I can't avoid them all. I'll probably be back at Costco, unless they make supporting leftist causes company policy, as Levi Strauss has done.

I read your article and called COSTCO customer service at 800-485-5743 and asked the person if the story about the COSTCO CEO was true. She said she had just received a notice from corporate acknowledging the story. I told her I wanted to cancel my membership and wanted my money back. She said OK and credited $45 to my Amex Exp card. I hope tens of thousands of members do the same.

well, at least they are acknowledging it and accepting the lost memberships. I'll have to look around for other options come renewal time.

"Given how MS was treated by the Clinton justice department I don't think this is all that of a shock."

What a lot of people don't know is that at the time of Janet Reno's assault on Microsoft, the biggest shareholder of lead plaintiff Netscape was AmerIndo Investment Advisors' private venture fund. Per Forbes, this fund was established to benefit certain Indonesian and Chinese investors.

It doesn't take much effort to imagine certain Clinton campaign donors drawing Slick aside at a White House coffee and saying "Something just must be done about Microsoft."...

Some conservatives might be able to make some cash by starting a buying club... but that start-up cost might be a bit much.

Don't know of any Costcos in Michigan, but I'll keep this in mind.

What else do they own?
