The loss of 2 million jobs during the Bush administration,

Did Bush fire 2 million people? I wasn't aware of it. A president's effect on this global economy is marginal at best, yet when it's in a slump and a Republican is in the White House, he becomes omnipotent. On the other hand, I didn't see these bozos cheering Reagan when the economy boomed under his watch.

As for the "cuts" in social programs, I must again plead ignorance. Could someone tell me what they were? Also, if there is some magician out there who is able to simultaneously increase social programs and private sector jobs, please run for office; Costco would love you!

"Brotman and Sinegal were among 25 people who gave a combined $7.9 million to the Joint Victory Campaign 2004 fund, which seeks to "change the course of the country away from the Bush administration's radical agenda" and elect "progressive" candidates, according to the fund's Web site".

Progressive candidate, John French Kerry...

You're such a bad boy!!! (grin) Here's what I emailed to Tom Sullivan on his "Email Tom while on the air" thingy.

Bloomberg reports that Costco owners contributing $95,000 each (x2) to the DNC to defeat President Bush!!! So much for Campaign Finance Reform and my Costco Executive Membership since the early 1980's!!! Here's the link: http://www.tribnet.com/business/story/4704137p-4655022c.html... This has GOT TO BE STOPPED!!!

He hasn't talked about it yet. Prolly scared of gittin into legal probs.

I see we're unaware of an obscure historical tidbit about the Price Club which had preceded COSTCO, (the two companies ended up merging) and had been founded by one Sol Price, a lawyer for Saint Gus Hall's CPUSA, who (Price) founded the store out of sincere concern for the oppressed workers of Amerika (you think I'm kidding!)

(Strangely, I am unable locate any references to this on the Web, you'll have to trust an expelled Boy Scout's word!)

Democrats = Party of the Rich

Or Republicans are the party of the Millionaires, but the Democrats are the party of the Billionaires.

Seriously, these people have made their fortunes and now their thoughts have turned to How do we keep it that way, so they vote their wallet for the most restrictive, anti-business politicians around because they have their legions of lawyers and all the money to avoid having to pay the outrageous taxes and deal with the laws that make it impossible for the little guy to get ahead.

Traitors, the lot of them.

Re my trophy wife. Who looks decades younger than her calendar years.

A weekend ago, my son and I went fishing. Trophy Wife aka, Grandma, baby sat for the close to 5 year old princess and close to 3 year old Bubba Bamm Bam.

At one time, she put on a set of old reading glasses to look at something that Bubba had sketched for her. He had never seen her with any glasses besides sun glasses.

He looked at her and said, "You look like a Grandma!"

To which she replied, "I am a Grandma, Bubba. I'm your Dad's Mother and you are my grandson!"

He just looked at her and shook his head in amazement.

For the rest of the day, he was telling his older and wiser sister that my wife looked just like a Grandmother with her reading glasses on.

He has called her a derivative of her first name since he could talk. So it was a wake up call for him. My son came close to losing control of his pickup on the way home when his daughter/our grand daughter told him the story.

When he got control of himself, he asked Bubba, "Did you think that Papa was living with some younger woman?"

Bubba said, "Yes!" This brought my son close to losing control of the pickup again.

We are still laughing about this. They will be here tomorrow afternoon, and Bubba will be teased by Papa.

its funny how these costco dudes have all these glorious reasons for wanting to ditch Bush, such as more support for social programs, etc....

what BS...

if anything Bush has been a Rockefeller Republican, and can hardly hold back on any liberal idea...

and Costco itself is very unAmerican....look at all their stuff....most clothes, furniture....all made in China......

maybe they are just mad that the dollar is so low, making American products a little more affordable to us peasants....

"Notice how effective CFR is."

It looks like the main effect of CFR was to shut grass roots organizations of ordinary Americans out, while doing nothing to billionaires.

What's even more interesting is that, more and more, the Democrats are becoming the party of the super wealthy, the academic elites and their serfs, illegal immigrants and labor unions, while the Republicans are becoming the party of ordinary Americans.

Let tax people, not on how rich they are, but on how "progressive" they are. Isn't that waht they mean by a progressive income tax system.

the Democrats are becoming the party of the super wealthy, the academic elites and their serfs, illegal immigrants and labor unions,

Any objection to adding the professional bureaucracy to that list? I'm willing to bet that, as a group, they tend to be Democratic and liberal, and they are a considerable constituency in terms of utility.
