[history]
I would like to say a kind word about George W. Bush: He's usually not as dumb as he pretends to be.
Acting dumb is Bush's style. He likes to sandbag people. He plays dumb, people underestimate him and, all of a sudden -- wap! He nails them.

His total disdain for environmental protection was frosting on the cake. Aw, come on. If you have to gripe about something, why choose this? This is so boring and mundane.
To: presidio9
Looks like Harley took every far-left mantra in the book, tossed them in the blender and hit frappe.

This writer has earned my extreme repulsion, bordering on make-me-want-to-vomit.

"One of my initial thoughts, when I became aware of Bush early in 2000, was, "He seems to be a Republican I could vote for." On first impression, he seemed to have all his father's good qualities and none of his bad. So he started out on my good side."
This is precisely why "moderates" should not be appealed to regardless of its effect upon the base. They will flirt with you but eventually drift back into whatever limp wristed "feel good" pap they're disposed to.

LOL! You always crack me up. I like your style, AD....almost as much as that of the Unknown Freeper!

He said he was "a uniter, not a divider," which was clearly phony, as events have shown. This has to be the most idiotic argument the Libs make (and the writer is just spinning the Libs talking point - nothing at all original, which is one of his complaints about Bush!) Bush has bent over backwards trying to appease the Democrats, much more than Clinton ever tried to unite this country. This is one campaign promise he kept, however, after the 2000 debacle, nothing will appease the Libs!

But, but.. he increased spending for the arts. He increased funding for AIDS in Africa. He pushed through a drug bill. He gave farmers a big wad of cash. Doesn't seem to have helped him much with the liberals does it?

Basically because leftists are essentially stuck in the '70s. No wonder they're so angry. If I had to listen to that much disco, I would be, too.

It must be cool to be paid to rant like that over and over and be paid for it. Pompous, phony windbag.

Bush isn't dumb. Just bought. He's neither, but if you feel the need to marginalize yourself by alligning with the likes of Harley Sorensen, by all means be my guest.
