Why People Hate Me [VANITY COLUMN]

I can't figure it out.

Yes, I have my weaknesses. Yes, I have faults. Yes, at times I'm too apprehensive and at others I'm too hasty. But I belong to the species homo sapiens sapiens. Aren't I entitled to a little imperfection here and there?

Of course. But that's not why people hate me. The truth is, I don't know why people hate me, nor shall I try to figure it out. However, I think I know--if not understand--the individual reasons why people like me seem to call forth images of lava reservoirs swooping down and devouring towns.

For my belief that American should remain a sovereign nation with a strong military, and for my expectation that we should guard our borders from invasion, I am a "bigoted, Nationalist, Nazi Pig."

For believing that the War on Poverty is ineffective, that the federal government has no business interfering in state's public education, and that it is morally (and possibly constitutionally) wrong for said government to claim more than a fixed percentage of each person's wealth, I am a "heartless, fascistic menace catering to the status quo."

For my belief that people should not be allowed to murder innocent children at any age, I am "pushing a radical anti-choice agenda which endangers the civil liberties of women."

For my belief that traitors to our military or national sovereignty should be executed for endangering our lives, that murderers should be executed when we can show beyond a reasonable doubt that they will kill again, I am a "radical, reactionary, Right-Wing Republican."

Lastly (and the one that confuses me most), for my belief that Israel has a right to exist and that Islamic Fundamentalism is a threat to world peace as well as the lives of Jews and Christians, I--along with others like me--am "a member of the second most anti-Semitic class."

You reminded me of the time I was sitting in church and the pastor said he could prophecy.

Of course my eyes got big and I sat up straight.

He said he could prophecy like Jonah who simply told the people of Nineveh: "If you don't change your ways, something bad is going to happen to you."

Surprisingly they did change their ways and Jonah had to adapt to the situation.

I said to him after the sermon that "More pastors should prophecy in the pulpit." He said to me "More members should prophecy in the congregation."

Go forth and prophesy but remember what happened to most of the prophets. Nobody liked the prophets either...I don't see most of them having many friends.

MEG, Quit whining! My gosh, you sound as bad as I look. Whining because people won't open their eyes and stare down the ugly truth. Feeling sorry for yourself when you should be feeling sorry for the illegal aliens.

Wanting sovereignty, a strong mlitary, national security, no taxes, on and on you go. These are not little imperfections that you're trying to cure!

You're trying to change the world and do it without using the American tax dollar. Put the wine away, quit whining, turn the TV off, look at your American flag and say, "Thank God, I am an American".
