I appeal that we agree to disagree before things get ugly. Agreed? One of too, either I am right or you are wrong.

"This is your beef with the President today? Please. I actually think he is right. Just because the terrorists have a distorted view of God doesn't mean all people do. The Almighty is the Almighty. I agree with President Bush."Jesus Christ of Nazareth is Lord. Not Muhaamed.

If you're saying that Christianity has been around longer and had more time to mellow, I agree with that. If you are saying that Christianity and Islam are essentially the same at their respective starting points, then I strongly disagree. These two religions absolutely fail the test of moral equivalence, whether you compare them at their source, at different points in their respective evolutions, or in the modern world today.
The equivalence you so evidently yearn for just isn't there. Sorry.

Story good story. It's called "got backbone?" and it is about standing up for what you believe as a Christian. What is my take on the Jews? They have rejected Christ, just like the Bible says. But atleast they aren't running around trying to slaughter civilians. God knew they would reject Him. They will come around some day, it all in the Bible. The Muslims will not, it's in the Bible. Jews worshiop the same God, but have rejected Christ. Muslim, beginning with Mohammad, highjacked our God and use Him in name only. They do not worship my God. Mohammad made things up...they worship a false god who they say is the same as ours.

Story The story is called "got backbone?" and I think it is good reading for you. It is about not being PC but standing by your principles. The Muslims are satanists. They do not worship my God.
I am not judging, just stating the obvious. Israel will be attacked again in the future. Heard of the battle of Armageddon. Who do you think will attack Israel? The Irish? Maybe the Romanian Gypsies? Nah, I think it will be the Muslims. If Muslims worship God, then why is He personally going to wipe them out? Simple. They do not worship Him. They worship something they have made up. Your Bible school robbed you. I hope you didn't pay for it.

Of course we cannot BE Jesus but if the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in those who believe we will do the works of the Father, which is what Jesus did. Jesus died, was buried, went to hell, bore our pains and sickness and was resurected. We will not do that. That sacrifice has been made.
To be Christ-like is to walk like him, not in the flesh but in the Spirit, then we will not fulfill the lust of the flesh but will do the works of God, on the earth.
1 John 4;2-3 and 2 John 1;7 deal with confessing Christ is come in the flesh. I know Christ came in the flesh, on the earth he was a fleshly man, his power came in obedience to the Father. Even he said he could of his own self do nothing, right. So he had to be a man like you and me. To deny he was a man and make him a God-man is actually the spirit of anti-christ. I am not trying to offend you, really I am not, but that was what John said.
One last thing just to be clear, all power is given to Jesus in heaven and earth by the Father. That power was given after the resurection. As we speak Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Father making intercession for us. He was with the Father during creation. He emptied himself of his Godly privledges and became a man, to show us how we are to walk, his soul was not upright in him but he had the Spirit of the Father. The Father upheld him. He was perfect in the eyes of God but not in the eyes of man. He humbled himself to the death of the cross, went to hell ( our penalty) but was raise again by the Father on the third day. Went to earth and showed himself to the disciples then went on to heaven then returned later for a period of time, then returned back to sit at the Fathers right hand, all things accomplished, we just have to believe it.

I've got a story for you. It's called Good Omens. Go pick it up at your nearest BN, then take a deep breath and read it before you go shoving your communist opinions down my throat. Good morning all. It's called freedom of opinion. We've got the right to believe in what we want without persecution. I respect your opinion, I wasn't trying to change it, I was simply stating my own. I recommend and chill pill for the lot of you.
And for that matter, A. Pole, it's two, not too.
And milan, don't mess with Catholics. Aside from the Islamic extremist, we've got the bloodiest history. There are latent Crusader genes in all of us, and it doesn't take much to bring them out.

It's called freedom of opinion. Hey, if you believe that the moon is made out of cheese this is your private personal opinion. But if I say that 2 and 2 is four it is not my own private opinion, I do not have any rights to it. Errors and lies are private and personal, the truth is universal and common.
The true debate is possible on the ground of common truth, so if you cannot take the debate get out of the kitchen.

God's Word says regarding Jesus, "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." Act.4:12. What can be plainer than that?
Pres. Bush had his moment to witness to the true God and Jesus Christ, whom He has sent to save mankind. He failed. Very sad. Contrast this to the courage of the girl at Columbine who was faced with a demented killer's question at gunpoint, "Do you believe in Jesus Christ?" That teenager's confession, "Yes, I do, " cost her her life and won her eternal life. Each of us has our moment when we either confess or deny Christ, as Peter had his. I hope Pres. Bush will repent that he chose the easy, man-pleasing answer instead of the courageous, God-pleasing one.

Yes, to understand the issue, a reporter should ask an immam whether he believes that Christians worship the true God. I'm fairly certain we would not hear the politically correct answer that the president gave.
To: samtheman
I was referring to the Old Testament, which reflected the cultural influences of pre-Christianity. Christianity was a significant change from those earliear cultural influences.
Christianity was a change to compassion. Instead of just, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.", Christianity instructed, "Love your neighbor as yourself." This calls for compassion towards others.
Sometimes, there have been excesses committed by some individuals, who claim to be Christian, such as those of the Spanish Inquisition, Salem Witch Trials, and etc. Those individuals were violating the above mentioned commandment.
We can also exam the history of Judaism. We have seen Judaism progress, from the very early tribal behavior, to a much more compassionate religion.
You can see changes of that nature among some individuals in Islam. I see that it will take many years for Islam to purge itself of the narrowness of the likes of the Ayatollah Ruyollah Khomeini and others (the ones who have committed terrible atrocities).

The Lord Jesus has said "If you acknowledge me before men, I will acknowledge you before my Father."
To acknowledge means to KNOWINGLY do something - not to IGNORANTLY do something.
TO do something God wants done for the wrong reason is not pleasing to Him.
ALso - we are not talking about people who get to heaven based on their good works - but based on the good work of Christ. NO ONE gets to heaven based on the works they do (Ephesians 2:8-1 explicitly states this)
Hence if someone actually DENIES and DOES NOT BELIEVE in the good work of Christ - His death for us on the cross, His preparation of a gracious place in Heaven for them - if someone says NO - I will earn my way into Heaven then they must be perfect in that obedience "You must be perfect, even as my Father in Heaven is perfect."
Hence there are only two ways to get to Heaven - perfect obedience - only Christ has managed that - and the other is through the gracious work of Christ suffering and dying for our sins and winning salvation for us - trusting in what He has done, not what we have done.
Muslims DENY Jesus Christ died - let alone that HE died for our sins.

Everything you say is true. I was surprised President Bush answered the way he did. Yes, he did fail to recognize Jesus Christ as the only way to eternal life. He was wrong and he should know this.
I feel his answer is not excusable under any circumstance. NONE, whatsoever.

2 and 2 is four. I never disputed math, which can be proven. You can lay out four apples and count them. Yay. Solid proof.
You cannot prove that God is absolutely, without-a-doubt real. You can try, and you can believe, which I do. I believe with my whole heart. It is easy to convince people of what is solid, no one will tell you that 2 and 2 is equal to 5. However, you can't throw science in where spirituality is law.
The heat of the kitchen isn't the problem here. It's the smell.

We could go round and round on this. You see moral equivalence. I don't.
It's not a question of evolving culture. It's a question of "what are your sources".
To: milan
No, sticking to your guns is part of democracy. Believing that your is the only is where the communism comes in.
