Hot hubby's long hit list (Religion of Pieces Alert)

Mohammed Khatib grew weary of his wife's filing restraining orders against him, so he tried to hire a hit man to knock her off ... and her sister ... and her son ... and his brother-in-law, prosecutors charge. In front of a Dunkin' Donuts in Sheepshead Bay a year ago, Khatib, 51, offered an undercover detective $5,000 to kill his wife, court documents allege.

The "hit man" then offered a $2,500 discount each for the other three.

Khatib, not one to pass up a bargain, jumped at the offer, according to court papers.

Attorneys will make opening arguments today in the conspiracy and weapons possession trial of Khatib, an Egyptian-born construction manager who first met with undercover detective "George" on June 18, 2002.

"During their conversation, the defendant gave specific details of his wife's physical description, her address, her telephone number, the type of car she drives ... her daily schedule, and [said] that the best time to kill her would be in the morning," according to a motion submitted by prosecutor Noel Downey.

"Additionally, the defendant suggested the best possible method of killing his wife would be arson," the document said.

The meeting between the undercover detective and Khatib was videotaped.

Khatib allegedly was incensed because his wife, Sara Mann, an alleged victim of abuse, had filed two restraining orders against him. He was enraged that her son, Barry Mann, 18; sister, Rachel Rosenberg, a doctor; and his brother-in-law, Danny Grand, a Hebrew teacher, had come to her defense, the court papers allege.

Just days after their first meeting, Khatib took George on a tour of Brooklyn - to the addresses where some of the murders could take place. Khatib gave instructions that it would be easiest to kill Rosenberg at her Manhattan office.

Khatib's attorney, Al Brackley, declined to comment.

I just have one question. WHY ON EARTH would a JEWISH woman marry an Arab? No matter how dog-ugly, fat and desperate she is?

Perhaps she was of the liberal variety who was moved by the "plight" of the poor Arabs at the hands of the evil Zionist entity.

If so, I sincerely hope that this has changed her perspective.

So not only do the kids have to live with the fact that their dad wants them dead, they're not even worth HALF the price of their mom's killing.

If this were the Middle East, he just could have said "I divorce you, I divorce you, I divorce you," and dumped her in the street.

Even with no fault divorce, it's a bit more complicated here. And, from the sound of it, his Arab "honor" demanded that he kill her.

Why does this warrant a "Religion of Pieces" alert? Are you going to post a note about the religion of any nutjob that wants his wife / ex-wife killed?

Wasn't there a rabbi that wanted to off his wife? Does that get a "Jew Alert"?

I'm just saying that the "religion of peace" alert should be used for something that's particular to their culture, like blowing themselves up or hijacking aircraft.

On the old IQ bell curve someone has to end up a couple of sigmas to the left.

Sheepshead Bay. Brooklyn. I grew up in Sheepshead Bay where the only things we hit were empty tin cans and spaldings.
