AMEN sweetliberty. Just woke up here on the west coast and woke with a prayer and PRAISE in my heart. What precious assurance that a MIGHTY GOD is in control of our lives this day.

"I read the brief some time ago. The problem (only one?), in my layman's view, is that it omits any mention of Michael taking Terri to California for experimental treatment. That came as a big surprise to me. Some freepers believe that the treatment resulted in her fractures. It IS a distinct possibility.
I don't quite understand why the glossing over, or the grey areas. Could be I've missed something along the way."
I'm not sure what part of the brief you are talking about, but I believe there is no mention of the experimental treatment because this was prior to the verdict to award the money for Terri's rehabilitation. After the award there wasn't any attempt by the husband to rehabilitate Terri.
Most of us here had heard about the experimental treatment, but I don't know the date. Does anyone have the dates handy for the California treatment and the date Michael won the money for Terri's rehabilitation?
As far as some Freepers believing that this caused Terri's fractures, I've never heard that before and I very seriously doubt that the medical tratment caused the fractures. If that were true the husband and his lawyer would be all over it suing the doctors that did the treatment.

I hope that this is the correct way to link to this thread.
Also, when was the picture of Terri, at the top of this page, taken?
Thanks

Michael Schiavo Slips into 'Carnivorative State'
Scott Ott
(2003-10-28) -- Michael Schiavo, the Florida man fighting to have the feeding tube removed from his comatose wife, has fallen into a "persistent carnivorative state," according to an unnamed family doctor.
"He's unresponsive," said one physician familiar with his case. "When you talk about the importance of human life or the effects of slow starvation on his wife, Terri, he just glazes over. He has no comprehension. I don't think he could live more than 10 days cut off from the hope of a huge cash influx."
However, Mr. Schiavo's girlfriend insists he has more brain function than his behavior would indicate. She said he usually knows when other people are in the room and just this week she induced him to follow a $20 bill with his eyes.
"Terri's desire was that Michael would never have to live without wealth or extramarital female companionship," the unnamed girlfriend said.
Experts say few patients ever emerge from persistent carnivorative states because they're totally dependent upon increasing quantities of liquid assets.
BREAKING, BREAKING... The Schindler's are going to be on the Montel Williams Show. I don't know the date but they were interviewed from Pinellas County and Montel was in his studio.

Oh, and one more bit of info: Greta Van Sustenance just sold her house on Clearwater Beach. No wonder she covered Terri's Fight. This was happening in her backyard too. FV
Recovering from a 'Persistent Vegetative State'
An excerpt:
That was particularly terrifying, to lie there with folks deciding when would be convenient for their schedules for me to die. I was aware, and I could hear, and I began to strategize for how to prove that I was there....
Terri's Parents To Go On Larry King
Bob & Mary Schindler will be appearing on the Larry King Live program this Friday night. The show airs at 9:00 PM EST.
The Schindlers were able to persuade Larry King to drop his demand that they give him an "Exclusive" interview, that would have prevented them from going on other similar shows.
It will be interesting to see how Larry treats them in comparison to how he handled Michael Schiavo last week.
New Guardian ad litem Appointed
The court has appointed a new guardian ad litem in Terri's case, a Mr. Wolfson. The Schindlers had opposed his appointment out of concern that he was carrying "baggage" that indicated he might be prejudiced in this case. Apparently Mr. Wolfson has made statements in opposition to "Terri's Law".
However, the Schindlers say that it is too soon to tell what he is going to do or recommend in her case. He has agreed to visit Terri accompanied by Mr. Schiavo, and another visit accompanied by the Schindlers.
the Seattle Times:
Jackie Rhodes, who worked and socialized with Terri, says Michael would frequently call his wife at work and leave her in tears. She says she and Terri had each discussed divorcing their husbands and moving in together.
...
Hannity and Colmes
[attorney] Anderson: ...she was so upset about the fight, that she called her best friend from work, a girl that she had discussed, perhaps both of them getting a divorce, and taking an apartment together... She called this girl, Jackie Rhodes, told her about the big fight... She was sufficiently upset that Jackie Rhodes asked her: "Should I come over? Should I come over and spend the night with you so you'll be safe?"
Anderson: And Terri said, "No, I'll either be asleep, or pretend to be asleep when he gets home from work."... and the next thing Jackie heard, was she was in the emergency room.
...more from Newsweek:
Terri confided to her friend Rhodes that her marriage was strained. She complained that Michael was lazy and so controlling that he tracked the mileage on her new Toyota to ensure she didnt venture too far. A few weeks before her collapse, Terri broke down crying with her brother Bobby. I wish that I had the guts to divorce Michael, she told him, according to an affidavit he signed, because I cannot take being married to him anymore.
"On the Record with Greta"
Greta: What was her marriage like with her husband?
Bobby: Well it was deteriorating Greta. I mean, we've had ahh, Terri and I had conversations ahh, prior to her collapsing that evening, where she was ahh, coming to me seeking a DIVORCE from Michael.
Bobby: And at the time, I was only in my early twenties, and ah, other than just listening to her, I really didn't offer... you know, have much to offer, as far as how to go about seeking a divorce. Ahh, she was extremely unhappy.
and THIS juicy tidbit regarding LIFE SUPPORT from St.PetersburgTimes:
...they[Terri's parents] and [friend Diane] Meyer said [IN COURT UNDER OATH], [Terri] supported placing her grandmother ON a ventilator and opposed Karen Ann Quinlan's parents, who gained national attention in the 1970s when fighting to REMOVE their daughter from life support.
this from the AP...
[best friend Diane] Meyer told a cruel joke about Quinlan, and it set Schiavo off.
"She went down my throat about this joke, that it was inappropriate," Meyer said. She remembers Schiavo wondering how the doctors and lawyers could possibly know what Quinlan was really feeling or what she would want.
"Where there's life," Meyer recalled her[Terri] saying, "there's hope."
On a related note, does anyone know what's up with a senate bill to remove lewd and lacivious behavior as a disqualifying factor for guardians?
