[history]
LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- Champagne overflows glasses. Guests glide around wearing vintage 1920s attire -- handsome men in top hats, beautiful women in flapper dresses. Laughter mixes with the sound of Glenn Miller's "In the Mood."
It's Jamie Johnson's 21st birthday party and a regular ol' beer bash simply won't do.

Weil is downright arrogant, bragging how he taunted poorer peers by saying, "My family could buy yours." Master Weil is lucky he isn't attending a gala in in his honor - posthumously.

Interesting ... makes me grateful to be me, and not them!

So I guess there is something wrong in marrying for love in the kids eyes. You know, there are more important thing in life than money. My only hope for these kids is that they see that before they waste their lives.

I saw an "Oprah" show about this documentary a few weeks ago.
The Hilton sisters were on and they did not know the words for "washing machine". They insisted they make their own money (though they do admit mom and dad help) - one designs handbags and the other is a model/actress. Can't we all just relate?

At some point in history, somebody busted their ass to make the fortunes these kids spend on champagne and designer handbags. Some of the uber-materialistic crap being peddled on MTV these days (see "Rich Kids" and "Newlyweds"). I don't begrudge people for having what most of us want--that being the freedom to do what we want. Leave envy to the leftists. Hope these people realize they can't take it with them.

I think a couple good "jimmy kicks" would help these little b&stards on their way to showing respect for the people that ultimately gave them their vast fortunes.

If you ever watch "Newlyweds" (sorry to admit I have), MTV slyly makes fun of Jessica Simpson and have a feeling they will do the same with "Rich Kids".

So I guess there is something wrong in marrying for love in the kids eyes. You know, there are more important thing in life than money. My only hope for these kids is that they see that before they waste their lives. Remember, This documentary only shows a handfull of people who may have wild problems because of who they have chose to become. I'm sure there are many people out there who were born into great wealth that each chose to pursue their own goals and thigns in life, and not rely on the family's financial backing. Actually now that I'm thinking about it, it's probably worth more to have your family's love and support in the choices ya make (Career and otherwise) than it is to come from a rich family... I dunno, just my two cents. (no pun intended :)

I'm glad God chose not to ruin my life with money ;^)

Obviously, since she apparently didn't go to school or receive any education.

I hope they played some George Olsen, Paul Whiteman, Roger Wolfe Kahn, and Fred Waring at this party.
To: Arthur McGowan
Heh... I was hoping they played some Jelly Roll Morton.

LOL...it appears that way!

Hornblower left college for two years to work as a machinist in the Texas oil fields, an experience that taught him "working hard makes me feel good." Yeah, what a brat. (/sarcasm)
