Tens of thousands of you have written the Maha Rushie to show your support, and his gratitude to each of you is profound. You have offered your best wishes and your prayers. Many of you have asked what you can do. And there is a way you can help. While Rush is away, stay tuned to your local affiliate radio station, listen, and participate as always.
Tell them you're listening. You can tell us, too, at a special email address we have created: DittosRush@RushLimbaugh.com. Write us and we'll publish a sampling of the e-mails we receive. New! Send an e-mail to EIB advertisers right here.

The desperation sets in.
The poaching in my market is already severe, because the Christian station with Ingraham, Prager, Ramsey and Medved is playing his theme music, repeating the phrase "drug rehab" in commercial after commercial, and inviting Rush fans to listen to their lineup instead.
I've taken to listening to sports talk, and am enjoying it a helluva lot more.

A Christian station with Medved and Prager? That's interesting.

Unchristian maybe, but really effective, and is sopping up audience share faster than a nice spongy biscuit sops up redeye gravy (sorry for the imagery, I need to go to lunch now, and I'm hungry).

Tried prager once, couldn't stand him. I like Medved, but I hate his call selection method.

[My response]
Rush Limbaugh's message is bigger than the man himself.
Continue to support his show, and continue to enjoy my support. I will always prefer products I hear advertised
on his show above and beyond any equivalent seen on television.
There are, of course, some caveats of which you should be aware. Products from organizations that show up on the NRA's list of gun control supporters as well as products associated with organizations funding explicitly liberal groups and agendas will be discriminated against by my family even if they do show up on Rush Limbaugh's show.
The Rush Limbaugh Show should continue in spite of his current difficulties. In my opinion, his show should continue on with "guest" conservative hosts even in the event of his death. That's how important his show is to me, whether he's there or not.
Thank You

My point is that neither of the men I mentioned are professed Christians; indeed, both Medved and Prager are Jewish. That's why I find it interesting they would be on a Christian radio station. Kind of like having Dr. Laura on the same station---although she's rather blatant with her belief in universalism so I doubt they'd take her.

The desperation sets in.That was my thought too as I read this, although it happened much sooner than I expected (perhaps the problems are more grave than we've been lead to believe?)
Stations are probably signaling that they are ready to preempt this month's shows so they can at least salvage this ratings quarter. One station has already preempted the show... They shouldn't have to take a ratings hit just because Limbaugh had a totally out of control lifestyle, but it comes with the territory, I suppose.
I also find it interesting that Rush had often made fun of the claim that his listeners were "mind-numbed robots" that just followed his marching orders. Now he's sending out marching orders!

Since Rush has only been off for less than a week, how the hell do you know if he is already loosing market share.
Rush will still be the King of Talk Radio because unlike, Prager, Medved, and Ingraham (Sorry Laura) Rush is the most entertaining, witty, and clever Radio Host regardless of his medical health.

Here is their link page.I won't, only because of all radio personalities, Dave Ramsey is the only one I truly respect - because he is a genuinely nice guy, isn't full of himself, and goes out of his way to help people in crisis.
To: Pubbie
Your tagline says "no on recall, yes on Bustamonte", and I'm supposed to take you seriously?
To: Chancellor Palpatine
That is sarcasm.

Something had been up the past few months anyway. He was trying to stir up GOP infighting too much - lambasting Bush for not being conservative enough, pumping up that idiot McClintock in CA. I think the show was getting ready for a slide anyhow.
To: wardaddy
Like I said, doing a room nicely for 10-15% of what a freespending spouse wants to do is sweeeeeeeeeeet.
