The approximately 40-member House Freedom Caucus is at the center of turmoil within the Republican Party over who will be the party's effective leader in the House ahead of the 2016 presidential election.

A group of hard-line conservative Republicans would "look favorably" on Paul Ryan if he ran to be speaker of the House of Representatives, the group's leader said on Sunday.

If the hard line conservative group in House says Ryan is OK, the Speaker's job is wide open for Paul Ryan. Except for his Amnesty position, I am OK with Ryan also.

It really doesn’t take much to be “hard right” in Obamaland.

Ryan LOVES RomneyCARE/ObamaCARE, Amnesty,
and ObamaTRADE (ie. supports the Moslem Tyrant).

If the “conservatives” back him, they are
NOT conservative in any way whatsoever.

Then the hard-line conservatives aren’t really very conservative at all.

Amnesty isn’t his only problem. He’s a complete Establishment suck up who’s for only the most tepid of tax and spending reforms. Postures as some sort of conservative intellectual, but isn’t that at all.

If Ryan does get the speakership he would never see his kids. I don’t know why he would want it.

I don’t think he does. Truthfully..why would anyone? It would be like riding head on into a tornado and hoping you could survive.

I kind of hope Boehner stays until the 2016 election. Let him go down in flames and maybe we can do better after that time.

Like all good liberals, the psuedocons approve of someone from the Romney camp.

If this is ‘conservatism’ then conservatism needs to go the way of the GOP and the rest of us need to establish a new movement.

I’m afraid I no longer know who the real conservatives are, but Wikipedia gives the list of members:

Ryan doesn’t want the job. He wants to be president and knows that accepting the Speaker’s job will kill that.

Take a look at the chart below and see if you still think Paul Ryan would be a good choice. He is below average for House Republicans in terms of his voting record. Way below average.

This is the Heritage Ranking of Republican House Members who have been mentioned as possible candidates for the Speakership. The most conservative congressmen in terms of their voting records scores 100%. The least conservative earns a 0% rating. The Republicans actually have one of each. Based on this chart, Westmoreland would be the best choice and Walden the worst. Any name in ORANGE is unacceptable and that includes Paul Ryan.

The Rank is the ranking of the 247 Republican memebers of Congress. Paul Ryan ranks number 179 out of 247 with a rating of 57%. He votes nearly as often with the Dems as with the Republicans.

If these so called “conservatives” back Ryan for SOH, they must be the redefined “Rove Conservatives” commonly known as the establishment, therefore totally unacceptable.

No Ryan for SOH. We need, and must have a true conservative, and a kickass true conservative at that.
