Activists are hoping to draw 10,000 people from a variety of organizations and causes for a march on the same day as the Republican presidential debate at the University of Colorado this month.
The Oct. 28 demonstration, called "Our Future, Our Choice: March for Civic Engagement," begins at the Glen Huntington Bandshell in Boulder's Central Park and ends at the Coors Events Center, where Republican candidates will be sparring with each other during a live television broadcast.
The activists are planning to use CU's Business Field, which is across Regent Drive from the arena, for post-march activities and displays.
Gary Roland, who is helping to organize the march, said groups who are interested in topics such as climate change, health care, immigration, gender equality and education are likely to participate.

Woo hoo, the hippies and pot heads are going to have a protest rally. Pet most of their Prius cars have Sanders stickers on them.
“Gary Roland, who is helping to organize the march, said groups who are interested in topics such as climate change, health care, immigration, gender equality and education are likely to participate.”
Yeah, and two people will show up for each topic for a grand total of 10, not 10,000. But the media will say it was 10,000 anyway.
What Republican brain trusts thought it was a good idea to hold a REPUBLICAN presidential primary debate in Boulder, Colorado?
Climate change in Boulder? Whats the big deal? It changes there every couple of hours.
Who picked Boulder?
My gosh that is the epicenter of the Colorado Socialist movement.
Community activists and agrarian reformers.
Selfish people are not self destructive ... it's part of their psychology to dictate to US, the smokers and drinkers what evil bastards we are to our children by smoking in the home ... etc., etc., yada yada yada
Agitating idealistic youth on the other hand is an entirely different science
Hey man, sounds like a real groovy rally, must bring my medical marijuana and enjoy the fun.
In case you want to ping.
Colorado Ping ( Let me know if you wish to be added or removed from the list.)
Paging Karl Rove, and the rest of the GOP-e.
Why in the world would they go to Boulder?
It is nuts to protest a debate, with 10-16 people, who are all fairly different from each other. Nuts.
I wonder why they want more tickets if they don't like the GOP to begin with? Let me guess.
It will be a typical Leftist failure with maybe 1000 paid activists showing up which the clown media will blow up to be 100,000 protesters.
Philip P. DiStefano wants CU to be the first University to host a debate.

CNBC will televise the debate . CNBC’s Carl Quintanilla graduated from CU-Boulder in 1993. Joe Kernen will co-host programming leading up to the debate. Kernen graduated CU in 1978 .
I’ve been to Boulder ONCE. That was to see Charlton Heston speak. There were protestors then, too.
It’s a really nice place except for the people there.
Maybe there needs to be a counter protest to their protest - and remember if you can't say anything nice say something mean
