Happy new year! Welcome to the start of the presidential campaign marathon. For your consideration are five likely candidates, each representing a distinct segment of the U.S. political spectrum.
Republicans have three probable candidates. Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush would represent the business conservative wing of the GOP -- Pew Research estimates this is 12 percent of likely voters. Bush would be the favorite of the big GOP spenders, the one percent that favors capitalism over democracy. Jeb's strengths are national name recognition, personable manner, Hispanic spouse, and reputation for moderation on social issues. His weaknesses: high unfavorability ratings and he appears too moderate for many Republicans. His likely platform: make America safe for big business, lower taxes and remove regulations. His slogan (before the Republican convention): "I'm as conservative as these other guys;" his slogan (after the GOP convention): "I'm not as conservative as those other Republicans." Among business conservatives, Jeb Bush has three likely opponents: Chris Christie, Rick Perry, and Mitt Romney. All three have more baggage than Bush: Christie has a reputation as a sleazebag, Perry as an airhead who doesn't understand national politics, and Romney as a two-time loser.
Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee would represent the conservative values wing of the Republican Party -- Pew estimates this is 15 percent of likely voters. Huckabee would be the favorite of the Christian right, the zealots who favor Christianity over democracy. Mike's strengths include his affability and national name recognition; plus he's a Southern Baptist minister. His weakness is his dogmatic stance on social issues. His likely platform: make America a Christian nation. Slogan: "Let God decide." Huckabee's possible opponents include Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, and Ben Carson. Cruz and Carson are big hits with the Tea Party base but lack national appeal....

Long before Willard was a two time loser.. (actually there was that third time with Teddy)
he was a TWO TIME draft dodger,
a life time pro-abortionist,
hated the military and veterans,
father of same sex marriage,
signed $50 abortions into state law,
hired and enabled illegal aliens,
Pushed global warming,
Pushed China as a preferred nation,
pushed adoption by homosexuals
pushed homosexuals in the military
pushed homosexuals as leaders in the Boy Scouts
gave donations to Planned Parenthood,
pushed AMNESTY
pushed Conservatives out of the GOP primaries
etc
Anything that is liberal and against Conservative and Amertican interests, Willard has been for and celebrated,
TWO TIMES over and more...
This Huffington Post story seems to think that GOP candidates do not support democracy: Bush favors capitalism over democracy; Huckabee favors Christianity over democracy. At that point I decided that the entire article was a liberal hack job filled with erroneous and sensationalistic claims about the GOP field. Not worth wasting anymore time on it, IMHO.
Come and listen to the story bout a man named Jeb,
rich politician whose family helped him get ahead.
Then one day watching border-crossers flee,
he figured it was time for Bush number three.
President Bush that is
Big government, crony capitalists
Well the first thing you know ol Jeb’s the President
Bush Clan said “Jeb move away from there”
Said “U.S. Capitol is the place you ought to be”
So he loaded up the Mastretta and moved to D.C.
Washington that is. K Street, corrupt politicians...
Well now its time to say goodbye to Jeb and his Establishment kin.
And they would like to thank you folks for voting them all in.
You’re all invited back again one day to this same possibility
To have a heapin help of another they call George P.
Bush that is.
Crazy isn’t it, Jessie Jackson was right..
Stay out of the Bushes, y’hear?.
