An Idaho Republican made waves on Twitter this week, tweeting that forcing insurance companies to participate in healthcare exchanges is like marching Jews off to death camps during the Holocaust.
In a series of messages that began Jan. 22 and continued until Wednesday, state Sen. Sheryl Nuxol said that the Affordable Care Act amounts to "tombs" for insurance companies.
"Much like the Jews boarding the trains to concentration camps, private insurers are used by the feds to put the system in place because the federal government has no way to set up the exchange. Several years from now, the federal government will want nothing to do with private insurance companies," Nuxol said. "The feds will have a national system of health insurance and they will pull the trigger on the insurance companies."
In a separate, related tweet, Nuxol warned residents to be on the lookout for state employees involved in enforcing the state's participation in the act.
"State employees will be the ones knocking on our doors to force us to pay. Complying makes the state the bad guy," Nuxol said. "There are 11 mandates relating the exchange, and six of the eleven mandates deal with personal collection of data, including income, assets, personal health, and bank accounts. What an ahole for making that analogy.
One of our biggest enemies is the insurance company industry. Before them healthcare was far better and cheaper.
There are plenty of appropriate analogies between the massive evil of the national and soviet socialists of the 1930s-1940s and today’s socialist thugs in power, but that one is not accurate. ObamaCare is evil and destructive, and the HHS mandate tramples religious freedom in a manner that any sensible person would classify as Casus belli, but this guy is wrong on the details for his statement (if the report of what he said is accurate).
Health care costs have risen in part because the cost of everything has risen — but mostly health care costs have risen because of lawyers, lawsuits, and failure to enact tort reform. Period.
Thanks 2ndDivisionVet.
Sen. Sheryl Nuxol is right on the mark.
One of our biggest enemies is the insurance company industry. Before them healthcare was far better and cheaper.
When the big companies started giving the employees insurance or paid for part of it the people went wild in regards of running to the doctors because it was free.
All things come to an end, so the government started telling the insurance companies what they had to do so the cost went up more.
It is the freebie loving socialists on one side and the police state loving dictators on the other side that are the enemies.
