Mitt Romney has a sizeable lead in 15 battleground states, according to a CNN/ORC poll released late Monday.
The Republican candidate leads President Obama 51 percent to 43 in 15 states that will be critical in determining the outcome of the 2012 election.
Obama won 12 of these battleground states in 2008 Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin and will need to keep about half of those in 2012 if hes to secure reelection. The poll also included Missouri, Indiana and Arizona as battleground states.
Thats good news for Romney, showing he has a base of support in those states, though the blanket poll of 534 registered voters doesnt give an indication of which candidate leads in an individual state, or by how much.
Two polls released last week showed Obama with an edge in several swing states. An NBC News/Wall Street Journal survey found Obama leading Romney 50 percent to 42 among likely voters in 12 battlegrounds, and a Quinnipiac University poll found Obama leading Romney by 9 points in Ohio, 6 in Pennsylvania and 4 in Florida.
Obama holds a slim lead over Romney nationally in the CNN/ORC poll, 49 percent to 46, which is within the polls margin of error and unchanged from the same poll in May.
Democrats, however, have seen a spike in enthusiasm since the Supreme Courts decision to uphold the bulk of Obamas healthcare law. Fifty-nine percent of those polled they were very enthusiastic about voting, up from only 46 percent in March, while Republican enthusiasm has remained steady at 51.
And despite most polls showing Obamas healthcare law to be unpopular, voters say Obama would do a better job on healthcare than Romney, 51 percent to 44.
CNN polled 1,390 registered voters across the country and 534 registered voters in 15 battleground states. It was conducted between June 28 and July 1 and has a 2.5-point margin of error.
Wow, with a tremendous sample like that we can call off the election.
“registered voters”
Not likely voters?
How can ANYONE with one brain cell possibly consider voting to re-elect Obama?
Check out my blog The Obama Clarifier. http://obamaclarifier.blogspot.com/
Simply too early for ‘likely voters’ ~ plus, we need to know how many were called ~ not just how many gave an answer.
“How can ANYONE with one brain cell possibly consider voting to re-elect Obama?”
You (And most freepers as far as I can tell) really have no clue how “F’d” America is, do you?
Don’t forget, idiot voters put this guy in office. Those idiots are mostly still around.
This country is screwed because the majority of the people in it are stupid and thus easily manipulated by the news media and their communist agenda.
Toss in the communist control of the education system (Particularly the universities and colleges) and you will quickly realize that there is no chance for us.
When you add in the recent loss of our Constitution the only possible conclusion to reach is that it is all over but the dieing.
There is no clean end to this turd of a situation we are in.
The thought of Romney or BHO being president makes me ill.
How can ANYONE with one brain cell possibly consider voting to re-elect Obama?

We have become an Entitlement Culture. To hell with the national debt, The Unemployment numbers, 40 million dead babies, same-sex marriage, illegal immigrants flooding Emergency Rooms causing those of us who pay their ER Bill to have to wait 8-10 hours to see a doctor.......... To hell with The Constitution and the Taxpayers who are paying for my Health Care, my food stamps and my monthly check... To hell with everything and everybody; just give me MINE!!! That’s 47% of America. Oh, and then..........
......Factor in the “Hollywood-style Liberals” who vote Dem out of guilt because they are rich and the fact that there are the Conservative purists, who hate Romney and won’t vote. It all adds up to give Obama four more years to finish destroying this great Republic.
I’m sorry.... What was your question?
You see an equivalence here?
Thanks for the encouraging words. Your glass is 3/4 full and sometime overflowing , right ?
Yes we look to be so screwed, but a replay of 2010 x2 should provide some good things. Me and a hundred million others have chins up and at the ready.
Never give up
How can ANYONE with one brain cell possibly consider voting to re-elect Obama?
Answer
1. You are black
2. Welfare or government aid receiptant
3. Hispanic (go with the illegal tribe)
4. Liberal moonbat
There is nothing worse than good news.
It causes defeatists dyspepsia.
I’ve spent less time lately on the FR threads....has this anti-Mitt sentiment slowed
I really can’t get my mind right about all these polls.
Just reading the headlines it still seems like it could go either way!
One day I read a headline that makes it look good for Romney, then later that same day I read a headline that makes it seem (GOD FORBID!) that Obama will be re-elected.
I’m just going to have to ignore them all for now. Either Romney makes the sale to the public or....well, I don’t want to think about the alternative.
It's down to infantile drive by sniping. Romney wasn't my first choice, but he is now. C'est la vie!
Here we go again. Fine. Drink the koolaid as we get slaughtered. Obama leads in states with 321 electoral votes. He will lose a couple red states that he took in 2008, but to include some of those states in the 15 horrible skews those numbers.
But, hey. The GOP elite didn’t ask me who I wanted to nominate.
Were you one of those fake Santorum supporters afraid to show your true colors or one of the our-of-the closet Romneybots?
Just wondering
1. You are black
2. Welfare or government aid receiptant
3. Hispanic (go with the illegal tribe)
4. Liberal moonbat
AND
5. Stupid conservative that can't tell the difference between Romney and Obama and love conservatism more than American.
by the title i would think Mitt should be ahead electorally. Be nice if they published the states and the numbers.
