Washington, Tuesday, April 5.

REVERDY JOHNSON ON SLAVERY.

In a remarkably brilliant speech in the Senate today, REVERDY JOHNSON cut loose from all Pro-Slavery associations by a bold declaration of strongest Anti-Slavery sentiments. He spoke in favor of immediate and universal emancipation, and advocated the proposed amendment to the Constitution forever prohibiting Slavery in the United States. Union Senators crowded around him with hearty congratulations when he closed, while Copperheads only scowled.

GEN. MEADE'S POSITION.

The rumors so thickly flying about that Gen. MEADE is to be removed, may as well be set at rest. It is now understood as a settled matter that Gen. MEADE will be retained in command of the Army of the Potomac, more firmly fixed in position than ever.

BUSHWHACKING OUTRAGE.

A few days ago, Sergt. FISH, First Connecticut Cavalry, while on picket near Hartwood Church, was captured by rebel bushwhackers, and shot three times with his own pistol, and left for dead at the roadside, He was subsequently brought into camp, but no hopes are entertained of his recovery. Three other members of the same regiment were wounded same day, and two others captured.

RELEASED FROM ARREST.

Lieut.-Col. CHARLES TOWNSEND, One Hundred and Sixth New-York Volunteers, sentenced to suspension from rank and pay for the term of two months by Court-martial, for disobedience of orders, has been released from arrest and ordered to return to duty.

ESCAPE OF MEN BELONGING TO DAHLGREN'S COMMAND.

Several troopers belonging to DAHLGREN's command, captured near Richmond, have succeeded in effecting their escape and rejoining their regiments.

RESIGNATION OF MR. BLAIR.

FRANK BLAIR will resign his seat in Congress on the 20th, and immediately proceed to join his corps in the Southwest.

DISMISSED FROM THE SERVICE.

This article caught my attention because of the anti slavery amendment. This was eventually passed with Southern states forced to sign on or remain occupied by Union armies with no representation in Congress. It did end slavery as intended but at the price of opening the door to the Universal Slavery of Socialism .

[If You Want It Fixed - Fix It]

Funny how we murder a million of our own children yearly and think we are do virtuous that we don’t enslave blacks, not even the third that co-murder their own.

Was that loss of life worth it? We kill twice that many yearly now. We lost brave men and the cowards that lived on murder their own.
