“ Can’t find Quadrophenia. “
There’s a Blu-Ray audio disc of Quadrophenia that includes the original stereo mix as well as 5.1 high res remixes. It’s a must have!
Slip Kid.
A fine song, indeed. I’d be hard pressed to pick a favourite Who song, but Odorono is right up there.
Some of the best Who songs never even made it onto their albums, some ended up on Odds and Sods, but there were a lot of great songs from Pete’s abandoned “Lifehouse” project, like The Relay and Join Together.
I love “Sell Out”.....”What’s for tea?”
Bkmk
“Sunrise” is another fave from that album (which I sometimes refer to as “Townshend’s first masterpiece “. And of course Tattoo.
Blu Ray -
Thanks!

Mary Anne With The Shaky Hand
Fantastic acoustic playing on “Sunrise”, he wrote it for his mom.
I have some issues with the remix, but overall it thunders as it should, and Quadrophenia should always have been in four channel.
Mary Ann…
Indeed!
His mom, eh? I didn’t know that.
Thanks!
I think all they used AI for on Now and Then was to separate Lennon’s voice from the muddy background piano on the cassette recording he had made decades ago. They weren’t using it to conjure up a facsimile of Lennon singing. I’d agree it wasn’t the Beatles’ most soulful song but IMO that wasn’t AI’s fault.
So has my longtime BFF from the high school days. We saw The Who many times in many places as teenagers and young adults. DC (a few times), Philly (once), Houston (three times.)
We got to meet them in the early 80s. We had seen their concert at The Summit in Houston the night before. A friend called me the next morning and tipped me off that they were at the Whitehall Hotel and hadn’t appeared in the lobby to check out yet.
We raced over there, programs in hand and there they all were in the lobby. We got all four to sign our programs. Roger was very nice, quite hot with gorgeous eyes and he had his lovely wife Heather with him.
In the very near future music will be entirely AI created by the listener to emulate musical styles that they like. Want new Who songs that sound like The Who's catalogue from 1969-1973? AI will create them.
Want music that sounds like Metallica + Paul McCartney + ABBA? AI will create it.
Music will be a largely private experience as listeners curate sounds (I won't call them songs) that only they like.
And not just music but artwork and movies as well.
LOL, I bet the hotel staff was relieved they didn't have to worry about Keith Moon's antics.
‘Rogery Daltry: Best Bits,’
Yes! My favorites were “Treachery” and “Say it Ain’t So, Joe”!
Awesome summers of ‘82/‘83…
You haven’t seen “The Kids Are Alright”?!?
Do yourself a huge favor!!! See this movie!
Yes, Kenny Hand seemed pretty mellow.
We did get to see The Who with Keith Moon in DC. They stayed at the Watergate and apparently all Moon did there was smash up a room telephone. LOL
Lucky! Great memories for you! :)
