“there is no justification to depart from that general principle here”
As an actual lawyer, I can tell you having an undisclosed romantic relationship with your specially hired prosecutor is more than enough justification. Add in the money, its a slam dunk.
They say these things that are complete lies and the MSM just repeats. This is first year ethics class stuff. Any lawyer could tell you, assuming they are honest with their opinion and not driven by political bias.

No offense, but most lawyers are scum.
Tony...it’s ONLY a SLAM DUNK for REPUBLICANS....DEMOCRATS ARE ABOVE THE LAW....ESPECIALLY IF THEY ARE BLACK!!
The senile DNC law stooge Larry "I Hate Trump!!" Tribe would argue with you, while filling his adult diaper and drooling on his bib.
I am sure you can understand why the average member of FreeRublic would not be inclined to grant your presumption.

I can’t believe the number of people saying “Willis & Wade’s private life has nothing to do with the Trump case” and shouldn’t cause either of them for being removed from the prosecution. As you said, this is first year ethics class stuff and a hypothetical such as this might very will be on a first year exam. Anyone that reads the GA State Bar Rules* which cover such conflicts can see that there are rules written to address just such situations.
The judge in this case went to UGA Law and probably had either Ron Ellington or Lonnie Brown for Ethics and Professionalism. Both Professor Ellington and Professor Brown was super super strict about ethics and professionalism matters. I can’t believe the judge would just let the actions of Willis and Wade slide and rule their actions had no bearing on the case.

Ethics in the legal profession? Who would have known?
