Not laughing. It is too true. Feral employees make more money with a pension than they did working in many cases.

FWIW, current Federal Employees no longer get a pension. That was under the old CRCS plan. The new plan FERS was enacted around 1987. Now they get a 401K like plan and SSI

HOWEVER Congressional members are on the CRCS program still

Somewhat right but they still get a pension under FERS. The TSP 401K is a supplement to the pension.

I retired in 2010 at 48 after 25 years service. If I can make it to 2035 I will have gotten payed twice at my high 3 level.

Not saying its right, but I can't compline with a strait face.

Looks like the federal pension lives on as the “Basic Benefit Plan”....so a “3’fer”: Social Security, TSP (like a 401k), and the “Basic Benefit Plan” pension.
