6 month old son
“He was a hardcore alcoholic. Losing his 6-year old son to leukemia in 2001 probably didn’t help matters.”
Sad.
Yes, I stand corrected.
I doubt if he had a whole lot of money. Those big paydays dried up along time ago.
You'd be surprised how broke some of these big names in the 90s are today.
Very.
Prayers lifting.
That was a really good song.
More to it than that. My brother died of liver failure due to untreated hep c and continuing to drink. Which in the long run really didn’t matter since he left the disease untreated.
He turned down a liver transplant. He was far along, but also, under those circumstances the transplant usually later goes bad because of the hep c.
Also, little known, there is a surprising percentage of liver recipients who get hep c from the new liver. A lot of livers for transplant are from hep c donors. The medical establishment thinks it is better to get a liver with hep c than to die from one’s own diseased liver. Hobson’s Choice.
Nasty stuff. Nasty way to go.
He was not forthcoming, but from the time line I extrapolated that he had hep c for at least several decades and for whatever reason refused to acknowledge it and get treatment. He claimed to the end that he did not know he had it, but from what we could see in retrospect we believe he had to know.
I have a friend with Stage 4 liver cancer, due to alcohol, and I suggested that with three siblings one could donate part of their Kidney to her and save her life. And her sister was willing to do so.
For some reason she said that would not work for her and she needed a full liver transplant. I am doubting she will ever get one as her BMI is about 13 or 14 and she has to have a minimum of 17 to get on the list. And I have come to suspect she is still drinking and will never have one. You have to be at least 6 months free of everything to even get on a list.
When he went for physicals his Liver Enzymes would have been out of control, yes he had to know, maybe he just did not care. They have a good treatment now for Hep C that works.

You don’t get on a transplant list with an ongoing addiction.
If the offer of addiction therapy is shunned, you might as well be walking on the sun.
Yep. Since he didn’t admit to knowing about it, I can only speculate as to his reasons for not dealing with it.
I was talking to my doctor about it and this business of the feds pushing all boomers to getting hep c testing. I said to him, beside the fact I am in none of the risk categories, you see my liver enzymes every year for my physical. He said, yep, he would have spotted it a long time ago.
His opinion is that there is a lot of money being made by pushing boomer hep c testing. Hell, even my dermatologist asked me if I had had the hep c test. Of course Medicare required her to do that.
Celebrity Net Worth pegs him at $2.5 Million net worth.
I find that hard to believe. He hasn't worked in a while and pics of him going back to 2013 show him playing at bars.
celebritynetworth.com is little more than guessing. The site has no transparency over how they get their figures.
It's useful for entertainment purposes but not much else.
Nobody has been buying CDs for a while now. Everything is streaming and that doesn't pay squat. Unless you're constantly touring or publishing, you're not breaking even as a musician. And even then, touring is not nearly as profitable as it used to be. There's a ton of overhead.
The music industry was swimming in money from the 50s-90s but those days are over.
There's a lot of rock stars from the 90s today who live in modest suburban homes and drive Toyota Corollas. And there's a few of them who make ends meet giving guitar lessons.
She’s Not There.
It ain't no joke, I'd like to buy the world a toke
And teach the world to sing in perfect harmony
And teach the world to snuff the fires and the liars
Hey, I know it's just a song but it's spice for the recipe
This is a love attack, I know it went out but it's back
It's just like any fad, it retracts before impact
And just like fashion it's a passion for the with-it and hip
If you got the goods they'll come and buy it
Just to stay in the clique
So don't delay, act now, supplies are running out
Allow, if you're still alive, six to eight years to arrive
And if you follow, there may be a tomorrow
But if the offer's shunned
You might as well be walking on the sun
Twenty-five years ago they spoke out and they broke out
Of recession and oppression and together they toked
And they folked out with guitars around a bonfire
Just singing and clapping, man, what the hell happened?
Then some were spellbound some were hell-bound, some they fell down
And some got back up and fought back against the meltdown
And their kids were hippie chicks, all hypocrites
Because fashion is smashing the true meaning of it
So don't delay, act now, supplies are running out
Allow, if you're still alive, six to eight years to arrive
And if you follow, there may be a tomorrow
But if the offer's shunned
You might as well be walking on the sun

It ain't no joke when a mama's handkerchief is soaked
With her tears because her baby's life has been revoked
The bond is broke up, so choke up and focus on the close up
Mr. Wizard can't perform no godlike hocus-pocus
So don't sit back, kick back and watch the world get bushwhacked
News at ten, your neighborhood is under attack
Put away the crack before the crack puts you away
You need to be there when your baby's old enough to relate
So don't delay, act now, supplies are running out
Allow, if you're still alive, six to eight years to arrive
And if you follow, there may be a tomorrow
But if the offer's shunned
You might as well be walking on the sun
You might as well be walking on the sun
You might as well be walking on the sun
You might as well be walking on the sun
You might as well be walking on the sun
My doc just talked to me about this and I had no idea why. Interesting. I basically tuned her out when she was talking because I knew it was nothing I was interested in.
