Steve Harwell, best known for being the singer of the band Smash Mouth, has ‘just days to live’.
The troubled star’s family has gathered by his bedside to say goodbye shortly after he was moved from a hospital to a hospice.
The 56-year-old is in his ‘final days’ after a battle with liver failure.
Steve’s reps told Metro.co.uk in a statement: ‘We hope that people respect Steve and his family’s privacy during this difficult time. Steve is resting at home at being cared for by his fiancé and hospice care.’

Pretty sad news. The opening guitar riff of "Walking on the Sun" is epic. Solid late-90s band.

Drug addiction destroyed his liver.

Walking on the Sun is on my list of 90s favorites.
No transplant opportunity?
That’s sad.

That sucks. One of the bands from that era I really liked.

Alcohol combined with most drugs (even over the counter drugs like Tylenol) wreaks havoc on the liver.
The two should never be mixed.

I actually met him, drove him to Frye's electronics store in the Dallas area some 10 years ago.
Good guy.

The opening of “Shrek” with “All Star” always puts a smile on my face, one of the first movies I enjoyed watching with my kids. We would sing that song together all the time.

So, no one gets transplants anymore? They only need part of someones liver to do one. Sometimes as little as 30%.

Drug addiction destroyed his liver. He was a hardcore alcoholic. Losing his 6-year old son to leukemia in 2001 probably didn't help matters.

So sad.
My beloved son-in-law will probably die this year from liver cancer. He’s a LEO and, of course, had to have the clot shots.

Usually not a real problem for those with more ample finances.
