Replacing your daily soft drink with a glass of grapefruit juice is guaranteed to remove what little joy remains in your life.

So many things can kill you. My friend Dave, years ago, said he knew smoking was bad and that he shouldn’t do it so leave him alone about it. He wanted to smoke he enjoyed it it was a chosen vice. Smoking was not what killed him. He died in a car accident. He enjoyed smoking until his last day and never got cancer.

Breathing air causes cancer.
Don’t breathe.

“While establishing a clear link between sugar-sweetened drinks and liver disease, the results of this study indicate that the consumption of artificially sweetened drinks is not significantly associated with liver cancer or chronic liver disease mortality.”

Despite burying this significant piece of information deep within the article, the major point should have been that carbohydrates are the culprit — and not the “sweetness” of the food or drink. And it is not that artificial sweeteners are consumed in such miniscule amounts as to have virtually zero metabolic impact — so much as it was that previous studies trying to implicate artificial sweeteners were provided in huge doses equivalent to the consumption of 100+ cans of diet soft drinks — which is virtually impossible for any human to consume on a daily basis. However, the FDA ruling was that if a product could be implicated in ANY amount — even an impossible amount, it could be labeled as cancer-causing.

So there is very real harm done by the vested interests in fundraising for their particular diseases — not to get to the root of the metabolic syndromes — caused by the overconsumption or intolerance to carbohydrates which affect the blood sugar and insulin levels that wreak havoc on the human body in the multiplicity of comorbidities that make one susceptible to further compromise and complications.

There’s good news. The zero-calorie artificial sweeteners such as aspartame aren’t mentioned.

Way to bury the lede:

“he results of this study indicate that the consumption of artificially sweetened drinks is not significantly associated with liver cancer or chronic liver disease mortality. “

I mean this is surprising to no one... recently I wandered down the fruit juice aisle in a grocery store. I had no idea they were still pushing this crap on people, and then couldn’t figure out who was still buying this? Apparently “fruit juice” is part of WIC subsidies and food stamps. So unhealthy agra is just funded by the US govt.

Don’t drink your sugar... AND fruit juices are as bad as any soda.

It might be true, but you can’t trust establishment medicine now after CoVid.

Instead of analyzing the study, it’s now more important to determine who stands to gain from the conclusions.

One thing is clear now, the interests of public heath are not a priority.

Oh, blah, blah, blah. The initial premise is that sweets encourage obesity and then insulin problems. OK.

But, leaping from there to condemn them as separate from all other sources of sugar is BS.
