That’s the message a Virginia lifestyle blogger is sharing on TikTok as she admits at 36 that she “regrets” the tattoos she chose in her 20s.
“They just don’t match who I am now and my girly/feminine aesthetic,” Sara, whose user name is @SaraOvershares, explained in a caption of a TikTok she posted last month.
In the clip, which has drawn 1.8 million views, the creator-turned-marketer likens her intricate ink to clothing you can’t change out of — even if your style evolves. “Imagine if you will, you put a shirt on once when you were in your 20s, and now you have to wear that for the rest of your life,” she reasoned.

Pretty girl, too!
I’ve never seen anybody’s looks improved by a tattoo.
When you are young and foolish, there are lots of things that you do for which you do not perceive any long term consequences. This, unfortunately, is not one of them.
Now imagine how you would feel if you had removed body parts at the age of 17 or 18 (or even younger).
I don’t mind if other people get them, they’re just not my thing for me. Also it’s in the bible that man cannot tattoo himself.
How much do you think it would cost to have them removed with a laser?
I cannot figure out the insane desire mark one’s self up.
My sentiments exactly.
My nephew’s wife and her best friend are very pretty girls...
Except for the gaudy tattoos they have.
If you must follow a fad, get a pet rock or a fidget spinner, you can always stuff them in a drawer or throw them away.
Don’t go into tattoos.
Go into tattoo removals.
That’s where the money is.
Shockingly, none of my four girls have tats. Of course, they know I and their mom hated them.
uhhh yeah honey. That’s why I never got one. If they’d invented a tattoo that would last 5 years or 10 years and then disappear, I’d have been all over it. The fact that its PERMANENT is why you should think really hard before you get tats in highly visible places like your whole arms. Welcome to reality. The sad thing is you look like you’d be fairly attractive without all those ugly tats.
Does she mention all the holes she has had punched everywhere?
Not marriage material anymore.
I tell the younger people I work with that there are going to be a lot of ugly, wrinkly tattoos in nursing homes in another 40 or 50 years.
Put some Windex.
Maturity with age is a case against tattoos, chemical castration and delusion affirming surgical mutilation
I have no tats, but if I had been in the Marines I possibly would have gotten one.
I was in the Marines. I was never even tempted to get one.
Nope. They're ruined an entire generation of women.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, tattoo removal is going to be a growth industry.
When my wife was a teenager, she got her eyebrows tattooed, as was the fad in Ukraine at the time. As she grew older, she hated them every time she saw her face in the mirror.
I would spend $1500 to get those two small tattoos removed. The dermatologist did an outstanding job. There's no trace of her ever having been tattooed. No scars. No shadows. Her natural eyebrows grew back.
It was expensive because I chose "slow and effective" meaning lighter laser abrasions spread out over several appointments because "fast and cheap" had a greater likelihood of scarring.
Now imagine what these people are going to have to pay to get their full body tats removed?
