Common Sense and his twin Horse Sense both died almost at the same day and time.

Yep. Finding relics in art to be pornography like David and firing the teacher has gone a bit far. I agree common sense is dead.

Common Sense started dying in the 1960s.

It's hard to say exactly when he died, but Nov 4, 2020 is a good bet.

The younger generation is so far gone, that even the style in which this is written will be incomprehensible to many.

“that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.”

I also thought this was ridiculous. Had the opportunity to speak with a lawyer who was very familiar with the case. This woman suffered third degree burns, was hospitalized for a period of time and required skin grafts. It was not just a little coffee, it did extensive and permanent damage. There is NO reason for coffee to be this hot, a lot of other issues came out in the case but the bottom line was negligence on the part of the defendant.

True enough but this is the umpteenth anniversary of the death. The headstone has lichen growing on it by now.

Not to quibble, but common sense died a very long time ago.
