Actor Austin Majors, a child star from the hit network cop drama “NYPD Blue” has died at the age of 27, Variety and TMZ report.
Majors died Saturday night while staying at a homeless housing facility in Los Angeles. A source “with direct knowledge of the circumstances” told TMZ they believe Majors may have ingested a fatal amount of fentanyl.
An autopsy was scheduled for Monday.

I live outside Philly, and the Kensington area is zombie central.

Had we let Covid run its course, not lifted a finger to stop it, certainly not shut down our economy over it, it would've largely wiped out swaths of the elderly and others with medical comorbidities.
From a macroeconomic perspective (and not a humanitarian one) this would've saved the country untold billions, if not trillions, in entitlement spending simply because the people dying had long ago stopped contributing to the growth of the economy. They were mostly on the receiving end of medical and social security.
Now wipe out the young population with drugs? A population that absent a crippling addiction, would otherwise be healthy, productive members of the economy, generating wealth and revenue?
That's a different ballgame.
Yep. I've seen the vids. Almost every major city now has a "Walking Dead Blvd." Some worse than others and Kensington is one of the worst.
But then there's the rural areas too, largely not being recorded for YouTube, where fentanyl is just as destructive, only on a quieter, less publicized scale. Talk to any rural cop and they'll tell you.

Drug abuse and homelessness go hand in hand. Mostly because the addict has been thrown out because of their thievery from relatives to support their habit.

I wonder if this is why nothing gets done about Fentanyl. It kills mostly white males.
Most people are poisoned by fentanyl as other drugs are laced with it and it is unknowingly ingested.
Even when it says eight in the story it was fentanyl we have the usual suspects screaming vaccination. It must be here to have to root for death to try and wedge in an issue. What is funny is as they try harder and harder they further marginalize themselves. SMH

I have no doubt that's part of it. White males aren't exactly a favored demographic and the social dysfunctions that plague them; alcoholism, suicide, fentanyl, tend to get short shrift.

No joke. Same for child musicians or singers. I enjoy watching some of the kids on The Voice or other talent shows but part of me always feels bad for them because as talented as they are the statistics are not favorable for a happy life.
