I note that the Dark Side cover only has 6 colors, as opposed to the 7 traditional colors of the rainbow. Which are the same 6 colors of the gay flag.
Since when did we get rid of the seventh color of the rainbow?
Will they change the name of the album? It seems you’re now supposed to say “far side of the moon.”
Another controversy was the Blind Faith studio album. After a short time they changed it to a band rehearsal picture.
On one of the documentary interviews Eric Clapton said, first let me remind everyone that no band member including myself was asked for cover approval. Almost never are artists asked to approve the sleeve content or pictures.
Second, people assume they know the age of the young woman. They are wrong.

The cover was withdrawn for the American market but in later decades was reinstated for other editions.

Just an FYI, but the correct title of the album is “The Dark Side of the Moon.”
I think we’ve gotten used to the shorthand version over the years. The “the” gets lost is the shuffle.
I guess no one remembers that the rainbow was in the Bible before it was in any of these things.

The 50th anniversary issue is an obvious nod to homosexuals, whereas, the original prism refraction album cover was first released on April, 1 1973. That was about 5 years before the homosexuals adopted the rainbow flag.
The rainbow flag was created in 1978 by artist, designer, Vietnam War veteran and then-drag performer, Gilbert Baker. He was commissioned to create a flag by another gay icon, politician Harvey Milk, for San Francisco’s annual pride parade.
Article is full of BS, for it does not match up chronologically to history at all.

I saw the newer cover art. It’s not that big a deal. It is just another graphic depiction of the angular prism with an area of rainbow effected light.
There is no blue and lilac Trans flag or anything. There is no Co-Exist slogan stamped on it. Not every rainbow depiction is in reference to being Gay. Sometimes a rainbow is still just that; a rainbow.
oh for crying out loud, isn’t it a spin of their earlier album cover where it was a prism, not a rainbow? Great music.
