Another controversy was the Blind Faith studio album. After a short time they changed it to a band rehearsal picture.
On one of the documentary interviews Eric Clapton said, first let me remind everyone that no band member including myself was asked for cover approval. Almost never are artists asked to approve the sleeve content or pictures.
Second, people assume they know the age of the young woman. They are wrong.
Steve Winwood said later:
“At the time I didn’t think anything of it at all,” admitted Winwood. “But now I can see how controversial it is, because I have children of my own.”
The cover was withdrawn for the American market but in later decades was reinstated for other editions.
